A breakdown of the Axemen coaching staff
Bemidji, MN –
Dixie Wooten, Head Coach, University of Texas-El Paso
Coach Wooten is in his second year with the Bemidji Axemen and first as head coach after previously serving as Defensive
Coordinator. Coach Wooten had a storied indoor football career spanning over nine years, leading his teams to a pair of
conference championships and one championship game apperance. Coach Wooten started started his coaching career in
2004 at Worthing High School in Houston as quarterbacks coach. He also coached as SoutheastPrep Junior College as an
Offensive Coordinator for three seasons and Kipp High School as a Defensive Coordinator for another yearCoach Wooten
started his professional coaching career with the Allen Wranglers,a former IFL team, where he coached former NFL-great
Terrell Owens.
Lee Patten, Assistant Head Coach, Bemidji State University
Coach Patten graduated from Bemidji State University in 1974 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education/Health
comprehensive major with coaching. Participated in four years football,two years basketball,two years baseball,and one
year of track for Bemidji State. While playing football for the Beavers,Lee earned All-NIC and NAIA All-District13 in back-to-
back years and was named team MVP his senior year. After playing for the Beavers, he earned a tryout with the Minnesota
Vikings in 1974. After college,Lee taught and coached as the high school level. Coach Patten was inducted into the
Bemidji State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.
Aquanius Frazier, Defensive Coordinator, East Texas Baptist University
In his first year as Defensive Coordinator for the Axemen, Frazier looks to ramp up a defense that ranked seventh in total
defense lastseason Spending the lasttwo seasons as defensive back for the Texas Revolution, Frazier looks to use his
experience to improve the Axemen defense. In his lastseason with the Revolution, Frazier recorded 49 tackles,two
interceptions,two forced fumbles,and three fumble recoveries.
Pete Nelson, Offensive Assistant, Bemidji State University
Nelson is back for his second season with the Axemen. A Bemidji residentand Bemidji State alum, Nelson returns to help
an explosive Axemen offense aiming to be the bestin the league. In addition to being an offensive assistant,Nelson also
serves as the Director of Player Personnel for the Axemen and has experience working in the Personnel Departme ntofthe
NFL’s Cleveland Browns.
Andy Endemann, Defensive Line Coach, WesternMichigan University
Endemann has a variety of indoor experience,playing for both the New Mexico Stars of the Lone Star Football League as
well as the Everett Raptors,formerly of the Indoor Football League. In his season with the Raptors,Endemann had 11
tackles for a loss and three-and-a-halfsacks.
Zac Tubbs, Offensive Line Coach, University of Arkansas
2. Tubbs played his college career at the University of Arkansas,where he blocked for the likes of Darren McFadden, Felix
Jones,and Peyton Hillis. After college,Tubbs signed a free agentcontract with the Buffalos Bills and mostrecentlyplayed
for the Sioux Falls Storm of the Indoor Football League,where he won a pair of United Bowl championships.

The Indoor Football League (www.goifl.com) is a 10-team league with franchises in 9 states. The league holds a 14-game regular season schedule that runs February through June. The
IFL's playoffs culminate in July with the IFL United Bowl.
The Sanford Center opened on October 15, 2010. It has a full arena seating capacity of 6,500 and is home ice for the Bemidji State University Beavers Hockey program. The attached
George M. Neilson Convention Center features four break-out rooms with a combined space of 4,000 square feet facing Lake Bemidji and a grand ballroom space of 10,000 sq. feet.
