3. MESSAGE FROM YIM-YU WANG
DEPARTMENT CHAIR, INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
First, they are always prepared. They do their homework before the interviews
and continue to show similar commitments to their duties during their employ-
ments.
Second, they pay attention to details, which makes the outcomes more effective
and often accomplish more than the expectations.
Third, they follow up and follow through. Professionals do not let the loose ends
drag. They will accomplish the goals.
Last but not the least, they are caring people. They have empathy for others.
This trait, which is seemingly not task related, is indeed what makes you
extraordinary leaders amongst all. It is the one who is more considerate of
others’ needs that brings everybody to the team and motivates everyone to
thrive. So take your heart with you as you embark on this new journey of a
lifetime.
Best wishes,
Yim-Yu Wong
Dear Graduates,
Congratulations on your graduation! During the
past several months, the College of Business has
been undergoing a new strategic planning
process. Part of my role is actively seeking
feedback from the employers of SF State alumni.
Most of them pointed out that excellent profes-
sionals share some common traits and I would
like to share them with you here.
