1. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
1) Formulate Strategy (30%):
a) Document the strategy for the Group Financial Applications in the portfolio.
b) Prepare business concepts for proving the strategy.
c) Complete project request forms and evaluate project requirements in terms of the
underlying strategy.
d) Deliver on the overall strategy.
e) Developing roadmaps from the strategy.
f) Identify tactical objectives related to the strategy.
g) Owning and updating the Group Technology Repository for the portfolio.
h) Owning and executing the Application Life Cycle for the portfolio.
i) Applying corporate governance and policies.
2) Quantify Business Benefits (10%):
a) Conduct detailed business analysis in terms of application needs.
b) Prepare proposals in terms of business requirements.
c) Manage the requirements in terms of strategy. Does it fit, do we need to change?
d) Manages the scope of all related activities/projects.
e) Manage all issues related to developments in conjunction with Application Architect.
3) Identify Opportunities (25%):
a) Identify business opportunities.
b) Assist buisness in moving their business strategies into an IT Strategy.
c) Ensure that standardisation and consolidation drivers are adopted as far as possible.
4) Implement Solutions (25%):
a) Plan and structure requirement needs.
b) Analyse user requirements.
c) Analyse functional requirements.
d) Analyse quality of service requirements.
e) Ensuring that development standards and practices are adhered to.
f) Verify requirements – maybe through proof of concepts when new technologies are
introduced.
g) Manage all issues and risks related to development projects and maintenance.
h) Formally review solutions.
i) Obtain business and IT sign off on solutions.
5) Operational Support (10%):
a) Owning the Operational Level Agreement for the portfolio.
b) Ensuring that maintenance and standby activities are executed in a structured manner.
c) Maintain portfolio in accordance with group audit results, corporate governance and
processes.
d) Ensuring that group IT policies and procedures are adhered to.
e) Owning the budget both CAPEX and OPEX for the portfolio and the administering
of costs within the portfolio.
