2. NUTRITION
We need
susbstances to live:
water, food and
oxygen.
We also need to
eliminate bad
things: wastes and
carbon dioxide.
VITAL FUNCTIONS
Humans carry out three vital functions:
INTERACTION
Our senses get
information and
we react to that
information.
REPRODUCTION
Humans have
babies.
Humans are
viviparous, they are
born from their
mother’s womb.
3. VITAL FUNCTIONS
REPRODUCTION
Humans are viviparous, they are born from their mother’s
womb.
Other animals are oviparous, they are born from
eggs.
Most plants are born from seeds.
4. VITAL FUNCTIONS
INTERACTION
Your senses get information and your body reacts to it.
Example:
Your eyes see a ball coming to you.
Your brain thinks what to do.
You cover your face with your hands.
5. VITAL FUNCTIONS
NUTRITION
We need susbstances to live: water, food and oxygen.
We also need to eliminate bad things: wastes and carbon
dioxide.
To do this our body uses four system:
6. VITAL FUNCTIONS
NUTRITIONDigestive system
Takes: nutrients from food.
Expels: food wastes.
Respiratory system
Takes: oxygen.
Expels: carbon dioxide..
Circulatory system
Transports nutrients and
wastes around the body.
Excretory system
Cleans the blood an
elimimates wastes.
8. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
ORGANS
MOUTH-> it is the entrance of the digestive system.
ESOPHAGUS-> connects the mouth and the stomach.
STOMACH-> stores food and mixes it with gastric juices.
SMALL INTESTINE-> it is the longest organ in your body.
LARGE INTESTINE-> it is the organ where blood absorbs water.
ANUS-> it is the end of the digestive system.
LIVER and PANCREAS-> produce gastric juices.
10. DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
TEETH
Teeth have different shapes to do different functions:
• Incisors cut the food.
• Canines tear the food.
• Premolars and molars crush the food.
