RECRUITMENT & SELECTION PROCEDURES
1. The Criteria :
- Indonesian seaman have experience at fishing boat al least 2 years
- In good mental and good health conditions
- Age between 22-55 for ratings and 22-60 for officers
- Minimum High School graduate and minimum one year sea service for ratings
- Merchant Marine Academy graduate and at least one year sea service for officers / engineers
- International Maritime Organization (IMO) Convention standard
2. The Procedures :
- Promotion
- Recruitment
- Preselection
- English test
- Selection – Interview and Psycho test (if required)
- Sending the Biodata of each candidate for the Principals examination, consideration, and final approval
- Medical examination (IMO standard)
- Completing travel / assignment documents including visa
- Booking air ticket or PTA (Prepaid Ticket Advice)
- Departure / embarkation
3. Time required from selection until departure from Cengkareng-Jakarta to Joining Vessel Port :
Minimum 2 (two) working weeks. Possibly 1 (one) working week if all the seaman’s documents are still
valid.
STANDARD PROPOSAL
1. Crew Wages :
There are 4 (four) categories :
- ILO (International Labour Organization) standard
- Indonesian Seamen’s Union Standard
- Total Crew Cost ITF standard
- Your own standard
2. Collective Bargaining Agreement and Individual Working Contract :
Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between Foreign Ship Owner and PT. Sepakat Maritim Jaya. The
Foreign Ship Owner, who would like to employ Indonesian Crews should make and sign the CBA, which
contains the standard Individual Working Contract and other regulations, compensation, insurance, etc.
The main activity of PT. Sepakat Maritim Jaya is crewing services, however scope of the services offered by Marine Training
Center and Maritime English Center. These training centers are basically the same in their equipment and the courses they PT. Sepakat Maritim Jaya December 2014 6

offer resulting in duplication of effort for the sake of competition. We recruited very selective to potential job seekers (experienced
and non-experienced) and Indonesian Seafarers for deployment on board seagoing vessels.
For non experience job seekers, in order to meet the future business challenge we training them to the right place according their ability and choice, such as;
• Deck Dept, Engine Dept and Catering Dept.
• English Language
• Ship Knowledge
• Computer application and operation
• Floating hotel (food and beverage), etc.
SHIP CREWING
Recruitment and deployment of qualified shipboard personnel, following strict selection procedures of candidates through
interviews, personal history verification and computer based testing.
Thorough certification and documentation checks carried out. Specific upgrading courses required prior boarding to ensure seagoing personnel.
PT. Sepakat Maritim Jaya maintains a crew recording system of house crew based on a computer database to have more in selection, retention and training.
Our crew in the database are more than 500 crews. For any type of vessels, according request from the principals / ship owners.

PT. Sepakat Maritim Jaya ready for sending crews to your vessel, for any type of vessels.
To the following :

I. Manning Agreement
Between: PT. Sepakat Maritim Jaya and Principals / Ship Owner / Crew Management.
II. Period of Contract:
 8 (Eight) Months Plus Or Minus 1 Month
 10 (Ten) Months Plus 2 Months
III. Principal / Ship Owner / Crew Management Provides For :
a. Insurance.
b. Ticket’s.
c. Letter of Guarantee / Invitation Letter
Included The Name of Vessel & Port of Joining Vessel (To Apply Visa).
d. Agency Fees (Negoization).
e. Every calendar month, the Principal / Ship Owner / Crew Management must be sent the
Agency Fees Every 1 (One) Month Working.
f. Home Allotment a Minimum of 50% and Maximum of 80% from Total
Wages for Crew Family as mentioned from Allotment Form.
IV. PT. Sepakat Maritim Jaya responsible and provides for :
a. Individual Working Contract as contained in the article
between Agency and Principal / Ship Owner / Crew Management.
b. Agency are responsible the crew Home Allotment payment to the Crew Family as mentioned from
Allotment Form.
V. Principal / Ship Owner / Crew Management are responsible and provides for :
a) Overall 2 ea
b) Safety Shoes 1 ea
c) Socks 2 ea
d) Handgloves 2 ea
e) A winter overcoat or jacket
VI. Embarkation Procedures :

a) Medical General Check Up
b) Signing on (Immigration)
c) Mustering (Harbour Master)
