A rainbowiscaused by sunlightandatmospheric
conditions. Light enters a water droplet, slowing
downand bendingas it goesfrom air denserwater,
the lights reflects off the inside of the droplet,
separating into its component wavelengths-or
colors. When light exits the droplet, it makes a
rainbow.
To recall the dispersion of light that you learned
let’s have an activity.
Activity: Shine Like A Rainbow!
Directions: in the left box below, write the 7
colors of the rainbow arranged from top to bottom
in the space provided (0.5 point each). In the right
box below, write T if the statement about energy,
frequency and wavelength is true and F if the
statement is false (1point each). I will be giving you
10 minutes to answer this activity, after that I will
call some of you to answer this activity.
10 minutes starts now, you may start answering
class.
(10 minutes for answering activity is done.)
Okclass,time isup.Now let’sanswerthe activity,
anyone who wants to volunteer?
Yes, Ms. Inocencio kindly answer the activity on
the left box (0.5 point) and Ms. Tariga will answer
the activity on the right box (1 point). You may
answer first Ms. Inocencio.

your answer.
Yes, Ma’am. The seven colors of the
rainbow arranged from top to bottom are
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo,
Violet.
Yes, Ma’am for number 1 the answer is
False because the red light has lowest
frequencynothighestfrequency.Number2is
True because violet has the highest energy.
Number3isFalse because redhasthe longest
wavelength. Number 4 is True because the
higherthe frequencyof lightthe greaterthe
energy. Number 5 is True the longer the
wavelength, the lesser the frequency of the
light. Number 6 is False because wavelength
is inversely proportional to frequency not
directly proportional. Number 7 is False
because frequency is directly proportional to

You probably seen a wave, but have you created
one? Let’s try and make some waves.
Get a rope of any kind and tie one end of it to
fixed sturdy object near you. Now straighten the
rope and holdthe otherendof it.Start movingyour
hands up and down. Observe what happens to the
rope. Were you able to make a wave? Draw the
wave you made on a separate sheet of paper.
Now, try to make a wave again but move your
hands slowly. Observe what happens. Draw the
image of the wave you created.
Thistime,make a wave while movingyourhands
fast. Draw the image of the wave.
Based on the activity, is there any difference on

For sure you are now acquainted with the
different electromagnetic waves. Now, in the
application of our topic for today, here is the
question to be answered in 5 minutes.
How does electromagnetic waves impacted our
everyday living.
Okay, your five minutes starts now.
(5 minutes for answering is done.)
Let’s see your answer class. Can we have Ms.
Tariga to read her answer? Are you ready Ms.
Tariga?
Yes, Ma’am.
(Students start answering.)
Yes, Ma’am.
How does electromagnetic waves
impacted our everyday living?
Everyday life is pervaded by artificially
made electromagnetic radiation: food is
heated in microwave ovens, airplanes are
guidedbyradarwaves,televisionsetsreceive
electromagnetic waves transmitted by
broadcasting stations, and infrared waves

whose effect is felt as pain from sunburn.
Ultraviolet light represents a kind of
electromagnetic radiation that can be
harmful to life. Such is also true of X-rays,
