3. The X Defense is a defensive tactic used by a targeted firm in a hostile takeover situation. In
a X defense, the target firm then tries to acquire the company that has made the hostile
takeover attempt. In an attempt to scare off the would-be acquirers, the takeover target
may use any method to acquire the other company, including dipping into its war chest for
cash to buy a majority stake in the other company.
X shares its name with a very popular video game.

compilation series released by Sony and
Universal Music since 1983.

2. Give XY
9. From the very first game in the Civilization series, through to today, X, the
supposedly peaceful Nobel nominee, has been famous for one thing: dropping
nukes.
In the original game, this was because of a bug. X was obviously given the lowest
possible default aggression score, 1, because he is a very peaceful leader. However
if a player adopted democracy, the aggression score would drop by 2 points. In X's
case, this would loop the score upto 255 due to datatype overflow, making X a
trigger-happy nuke lover. In the later games, this ironic feature for X stayed as a
tribute.

X answered to a question in an interview: “Therefore the A are immortal in a sense.
I had to use immortal, I didn't mean that they were eternally immortal, merely that
they are very longaeval and their longevity probably lasts as long as the
inhabitability of the Earth.
The B of course are quite obviously - wouldn't you say that in many ways they
remind you of the Jews? Their words are Semitic obviously, constructed to be

X is made by a process using ammonium ferric citrate and potassium ferricyanide. In this
procedure a distinct compound is formed and the process is also known as cyanotype. The
paper is impregnated with a solution of ammonium ferric citrate and dried. When the
paper is illuminated a photoreaction turns the trivalent (ferric) iron into divalent (ferrous)
iron. The image is then developed using a solution of potassium ferricyanide forming
insoluble ferroferricyanide with the divalent iron.
The result is a copy of the original image with the clear background area rendered dark and
the image reproduced as a white line. The image is stable. A big quality is that the dark
background makes it difficult to add new information to the print, therefore a X cannot
easily be altered
Introduction of the X eliminated the expense of photolithographic reproduction or of hand-
tracing of original drawings. By the latter 1890s in American architectural offices, a X was
one-tenth the cost of a hand-traced reproduction. The X is still used for special artistic and
photographic effects, on paper and fabrics.

Which entity commissioned the artist to paint these? Who is the artist?
31. Norman Rockwell was commissioned by General

the new electric light brought to American life.
32. 10) What famous conspiracy theory?
The 1975 film Barry Lyndon chronicles the exploits of an 18th century Irish
adventurer. The movie required scenes to be shot in the dim light of candles
because the era in the movie preceded the invention of the light bulb. The
equipment of the time was not advanced enough to capture a clear shot in this low
light. But, the director procured new advanced cameras which allowed him to shoot
such scenes. Conspiracy theories suggest that the director got these cameras in lieu
of a project that he worked on.
Which director? What project?

The name of this film studio came from the nickname given to the WWII Italian
aircraft Caproni Ca.309. The Italian noun of the name is based on the Arabic
name for the sirocco, or Mediterranean wind, the idea being the studio would
"blow a new wind through the animation industry.” The last film made by a
founder of the studio was about the life of a Japanese WWII fighter aircraft
designer.
Which film studio? Who is the founder?

The _______ index was invented by The Economist in 1986 as a lighthearted guide to
whether currencies are at their correct level. It has been published by that paper annually
since then . The index is published as an informal way of measuring the purchasing power
parity (PPP) between two currencies and provides a test of the extent to which market
exchange rates result in a sample basket of goods costing the same in different countries.
In the _______ Index, the basket in question is a single ______ X. The ______ was chosen
because it is available to a common specification in many countries around the world.
Thus, the index enables a comparison between many countries' currencies.
It was never intended as a precise gauge of currency misalignment, merely a tool to make
exchange-rate theory more digestible. Yet the _______ index has become a global
standard, included in several economic textbooks and the subject of dozens of academic
studies.

X paper is made from thin and lightweight "rag fibers" (nonwood plant fibers) such as flax,
hemp, sisal, rice straw, and esparto. It may be transparent, colored and flavored. It has a
high filler content and a basis weight of 18-28 g/m². Among the fillers used are calcium
carbonate to influence the permeability and color, magnesium carbonate, or titanium
oxide, Sodium potassium tartrate (Seignette salt), sodium and potassium citrate are used
as a combustion regulator in X. X needs to be permeable. Permeability is measured in
CORESTA units. US commercial X brands have permeability between 14 and 51 CORESTA
units.

In 1991 in a small precision-molding shop in Midland, Michigan, a molding press that was
meant to turn injections of liquid Silicone into flexible, one-piece precision valves wasn't
working quite right. After days of rethinking the valve's design, Paul Brown, the shop's
owner, came up with a valve that's a little silicone dome with right-angled slits cut in its
top. When pressure was applied, the dome's slits opened like flower petals and released
the contents. When the pressing stopped, the air sucked back into the dome caused it to
retract, and the slits to close.
In addition to having big customers such as Gerber and NASA, and eventually selling his
company for $93 million, Brown's invention caused a revolution in the FMCG industry.
Where is his invention used?
60. In Ketchup packaging
This valve was used in the upside-down ketchup bottles, to prevent
ketchup from leaking out.
Ketchup sales were stagnant until that point because it was very
inconvenient to use, but significantly increased after this upside-
down bottles were introduced.
