I understand that immigration is an issue for America in todayโs time, but is everything
that we do necessary? Immigrants are afraid to report that they were attacked because they are
worried police officers or hospital workers will report them as an immigrant if they tell what
happened to them. Immigrants would rather keep their attack quiet rather than report it due to the
possibility of being sent back to their native country. Not all immigrants are in America to plot
terrorist attacks, but Americans treat Arabs with no trust and disrespect as if that person is going
to blow up a building. Not all Mexicans and Latinas are in America to babysit, clean houses, or
mow lawns. Whenever people think about or talk about Mexicans they make a joke about how
good they can clean or mow lawns. What makes Americans so special that they get to pick and
choose who lives and who gets to stay in America? Then the immigrants that become legal
citizens of America are taken advantage of everyday. I believe that immigrants should prove that
they are not here to cause trouble, but that is hard to detect. We do have a reason to have our
suspicions when an immigrant comes to America, but that doesnโt mean he or she is here to
cause trouble. I think the tests immigrants have to take are good to have, but the things they are
tested on most Americans donโt know the answer. Why put someone else through so much
trouble and Americans get by easily just because they were born here? I believe immigrants now
more about Americaโs history than most Americans. The immigration policy should be taken
serious, but some things should become a little more lenient.
