2. Boy Scouts of America
● Boy Scouts of America provides young men
with the skills and knowledge they need to
develop into strong leaders. In every
activity, the Boy Scouts program relies on
four primary pillars: leadership, values,
education, and service to others.
3. “Do a Good Turn Daily.”
● Service remains one of the most important
aspects of scouting, as demonstrated by the
organization’s motto, “Do a good turn daily.”
● The term “good turn” refers to an act of
kindness, something that a scout does without
expectation of a reward.
● Scouts learn to stay on the lookout for
opportunities to do good turns for family
members, friends, and anyone in the community
in need, from young children to the elderly.
4. Service and Rank
● As boys advance through the Boy Scouts and
approach the rank of Eagle Scout, service
becomes increasingly important. To attain
this rank, young men must complete a
major service project and oversee the
initiative from the planning stages to
implementation.
