• Calculate: The Calculate button is used to calculate an Auto Commercial
Rate Quote after entering the necessary information.
• Print: The Print button displays a print window where the Quote Results or

The agent or team member can begin the launch process from the ABS Homepage. A
Quote can be initiated by searching for an existing client or without selecting a client at all.
To launch a new
application:

customer's name in

Summary
The agent or team member can launch a new Auto Commercial Rate Quote from the
ABS Homepage by following these steps:
1. Enter the customer name and click Search from the ABS Homepage.
2. If no matches are found, click Quotes and Applications in the ABS menu bar to
create a new auto commercial rate quote for a customer, then select Auto. On the
Product Selection page enter an effective date and click Search. Choose
Commercial as the product type and click Next. Complete the Product
Determination-Vehicle Questions and Product Determination–Vehicle Uses screens.
Clicking Next on the Product Determination–Vehicle Uses page will launch the first
page of the ACRQ.
3. If matches are returned, select the correct customer from the results box by
clicking on the checkbox. The ABS Household page for that customer opens. Click
on Quotes and Applications in the ABS menu bar, then select Auto. On the
Product Selection page enter an effective date and click on the Search button.
Choose Commercial as the product type and click Next. Complete the Product
Determination-Vehicle Questions and Product Determination-Vehicle Uses screens.
Clicking Next on the Product Determination–Vehicle Uses page will launch the first
page of the ACRQ.

Quote:
•Every quote should begin with a Customer Search in ABS.
•After completing a quote, use the toolbar Close button to close the quote currently
open (a prompt appears asking if any changes should be saved). Closing the quote
using the in the upper right hand corner does not display the save option before
closing.
•Modify the Quote Description to a meaningful description of the quote for ease in
navigating back to the desired quote.
•Print the Operations Center Summary form and attach and mail, with the paper
Commercial Application, to the Operations Center if the quote results in an application
being taken.
•To save a quote, the customer name and mailing address must be entered.
•An existing quote for the customer may be retrieved through Production Manager.

When a customer is selected from Client, that customer and his or her household
members automatically appear in the Household member list. The customer selected
in Client also appears as the Customer named on quote. Click Next to continue
completing the quote, OR to add more customers to the quote, following the steps
below.
1. If the Household member
does not appear in the
selection list, enter the name
of the member OR click
Customer Search to search
for a customer in another
Household.
2. Click Add.
3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for
additional Household
members added to the
quote.
Click Move Up or Move
down to change the role of

Summary
The agent or team member may create an auto commercial rate quote by following these
steps:
1. Launch the quote – A quote can be launched from ABS Household Page or it can be launched from
the ABS Homepage.
2. Complete Customers Page – Customers may be added or removed from the quote, and their roles
may be changed.
3. Complete Customer Information Page - A first and last name and a mailing address are required
to save a quote.
4. Complete Address Page - A mailing address is required to save a quote.
5. Complete Rating Page – All questions on this page must be answered to calculate a quote.
6. Complete Vehicle Page – If the customer has a VIN for a vehicle model year 1981 or newer, the
system can provide specific information regarding that vehicle. If the customer does not have a VIN
for a vehicle model year 1981 or newer the agent or team member may be able to locate the vehicle
information clicking Retrieve Vehicle Information. And finally if the vehicle model year is 1980 or
older, the agent or team member will have to manually enter the information as collected from the
customer.
7. Complete Trailers Page - Add information to the quote about owned trailers.
8. Complete Coverages Page and Calculate– Not all coverages are required to calculate a quote.
Some are also not eligible for selection based on the type and use of the vehicle being quoted. Once
the agent or team member calculates the quote, results are returned to the agent or staff member
and may be printed or modified.
9. Correct any Errors , if necessary – If errors occur during the calculate process, the errors will
appear in the Error List Box at the top of the page. These errors must be resolved before a quote
can be calculated.
10. Recalculate the quote if errors existed – Once all errors are resolved, clicking Calculate will
provide the agent or team member with the quote results they are looking for.

If the incorrect vehicle year has been entered and all of the following are true:
•Vehicle year entered is 1981 or newer, and;
•The agent or team member has progressed into the quote and has
reached the Customer page, and;
•The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is accurate and available for
entry. Follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the Vehicle page.
2. Enter the VIN in the appropriate field.
3. Click the Retrieve Vehicle Information
button.
4. If the VIN is in a valid format, the agent or
team member will be prompted by an alert
asking if the vehicle year should be changed
to match the year identified in the 10th
position of the VIN.
5. Select the alert's OK button and the vehicle
year will change.
If the VIN is not in a valid format, the
change of year may not be possible. If this
is the case, the steps on the previous page
(3 of 6) should be followed.

Selecting a Deleted Quote - Introduction
Scenario: The agent or team member has retrieved a previously saved auto commercial
rate quote through the Production Manager page. The agent or team member
navigates to the Quote List page and decides to remove all of the quotes in the request
by clicking the Remove button. The auto commercial rate quote closes and the agent or
team member is redirected back to the ABS Household Page for the customer. The
agent or team member then pulls up the Production Manager page which never closed
and has not been refreshed. The agent or team member attempts to review the auto
commercial rate quote just deleted and receives a technical error.

within ACRQ.
Scenario: The agent or team member is in a state that has the Auto
Commercial Rate Quote installed, but when the agent tries to create a quote,
an error message displays and a quote cannot be created.

Security Authorization
The agent may be unable to get into the application for one of the following reasons:
•The ACRQ application has been in this state for a while but is a newly licensed agent.
•The ACRQ application has just been rolled out to the agent's state. This specific agent
does not have access but other agents do have access (are authorized) to the quote
application.
•The ACRQ application has not been activated in that state.
The agent needs to get security authorization to Auto Commercial Rate Quote For
Updates.
When a new agent is activated in the directory, they will already be associated with a
state. Due to this fact, the security accesses will be programmatically updated. If the
agent doesn't have access to the application in an active state, despite being able to
login, there may be an error with their directory record.
