Dear sir,
Your decision regarding my driving license to remain revoked
is upsetting. In hindsight I feel that eventually getting my license back will be the ultimate incentive
regarding making extra effort remaining vigilant towards the misuse of drugs and alcohol.
I have written already to Derby Magistrates and the Erewash Recovery Team to highlight my
complete willingness to co-operate regarding updates on my progress. My concern is that by the
time the 12 month period is up that new policies may spring up and I will have further surprises.
As somebody who already has a medical condition that doesn't affect his driving ability, you may
understand my frustration reaching the end of a 22 month driving ban and not being able to get back
on the road. I feel this is unfair though I can only really blame myself for not involving myself in
sorting this out in conjunction with the end of my ban coming up.
You have provided me with an address to write too regarding any extra medical evidence that I may
wish to put forward and I will do this by writing a letter, highlighting how my illness does not affect
my driving, furthermore I am too provide you with copies of the letters I have sent to Derby
Magistrates and my mental health team, Erewash Recovery Team, so we are all on the same page.
Finally I would like to stress that I personally do not tolerate the use of drugs, or the misuse of
alcohol. It has been unfortunate for me that I had run ins but I'd like to put them behind for me and
learn from them. You have my 100% co-operation regarding any investigations that may have to
occur, and I would like to remind you that the quality of my life will improve given the ability to
drive.
Could I please ask you too withhold from refunding my application fees at this time because I
would like time to gather more evidence to present to you, the courts and my medical team.
I appreciate your standards and look forward to your response,
Yours faithfully,
William A G Spowage Vi
