SUBJECT COVID-19 INCIDENT REPORTING PROCEDURE
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. The recording of claims against the compensation commissioner is only one part of the process if an employee
should contract the COVID-19 virus. This document will explain how the company will record and handle the
incident in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
1.2. If an employee should be infected with COVID-19 virus at work, it will be deemed to be a Section 25 incident
according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
2. REPORTING
COVID-19 incident will immediately be reported to the Department of Employment and Labour and the COVID-
19 hotline should be contacted (08000 29999). All operations will seize immediately upon awaiting feedback
from the DOL and Department of Health. The following documentation will be completed by the designated
incident investigator:

Full Incident Report
All the completed incident reports will be discussed within the company’s health and safety committee
meeting.
