15. My Opinions
In my opinion, I think if we want to
protect the environment, we need to
begin from ourselves. If we are taking
actions to do it, the environment
problems should be solved.
The bottled water industry generates as much as 1.5 million pounds of bottles per year and only 13 percent of plastic bottles are actually recycled after being discarded.
Beach polluted not only by the plastic and trash, but also by the wasted water from factories industry.
Second topic of Air Pollution.
Air pollution casue Maui disappeared.
In 2007, Hawaii's government had been assigned to have the greenhouse gases law. The government had to reduce emissions to 1990 level, which means government had to reduce gas emissions by 16 percent. It is very hard to reach the targets for them.
About 47 percent demand of using electricities will casue electricities pollution in Hawaii. For example, a bydrogen power plant will provide power to Hawaii citizens but also a huge destruction for Hawaii environment.
Third topic of Plant Destroyed.
Corals as a plants that are living on the ocean. After bleaching events during 2014 to 2015, researchers found nearly 10 percent of the bay's corals had died. Nearly half of the coral was bleached at the bay.
Hawaii is home to hundreds of different plants and animals, but 130 of the states's 1360 native plant species have been extincted.
The Team Surfrider Foundation helped to implemented the policy of plastic bag ban in 2010 and a tobacco free beaches in 2014.
The state and Federal fines for the pollution between $1,000 minimum and $25,000 maximum in order to control the environment pollutions.
