An intangible asset is something that is not
physical in nature, and includes creations of the
human intellect. Intellectual property, including
items such as patents, trademarks, copyrights,
business methodologies, goodwill, brand
recognition are intangible assets, as opposed to
tangible assets which include land, vehicles,
