2. Exterior parquet selection 2011 version 16-6-2011
Dear Sir/Madam,
WOODlife is a trademark of UAB NEDlit International (in short: NEDlit). NEDlit is a
Lithuanian company and was established in 1993. The company is lead by two Dutch
owners who have a background in international sustainable forestry. NEDlit’s core activity
is the production of high quality flooring for both interior and exterior. For interiors we
mainly produce wide width, long length, two-layer, one-strip engineered floorboards.
When it comes to exterior flooring we mainly specialize in architectural, ecological FSC-
certified hardwood exterior parquets from European forests.
WOODlife Ecological Decking
Our thermally modified ecological decking is available in different wood species and
different sizes. With a total thickness of 21 to 28 mm, the strength of the decking is high.
Due to the modification, the sensibility of our exterior parquet to changes in moist and
temperature are reduced to the very minimum; the lifetime of the parquet is prolonged.
Finishing at your wishes
We can finish our decking according to your wishes. Our revolutionary decking oil is free of
VOC’s, and therefore 100% environmentally friendly. To prevent our eco decking from
turning grey over time, the boards can be pre-treated with a UV-primer. This UV-primer
provides a solid protection against influences from UV-light which largely brings fungus
and grey to a halt.
FSC®-certified
NEDlit is certified according to a Chain-of-Custody certificate based on FSC-STD-40-004,
under Certificate Registration Code: SW-COC-003761. Most of our thermally modified
decking is available from FSC®-certified courses.

Why Rift sawn?
Rift sawn boards show vertical annual rings (see images on the right).
Due to the vertical direction of the annual rings:
1. The boards show virtually no knots, which results in a very nice,
exclusive and even look.
2. The boards are very stable: virtually no shrinkage and expansion
sideways.
3. The surface of the douglas is much more hard wearing, through
which the lifetime of the boards is extended even further.

6. 3 Support beams for decking
WOODlife offers support beams in two different wood species. The first is (thermo modified) pine, a softwood
species that originates from sustainably managed forests in the Baltics. It is thermally modified to give it a higher
durability than untreated softwoods. The second wood species is (thermo modified) beech which is a durable
hardwood species with a durability class 1 (last longer than 30 years).

7. 4 B-fix
B-Fix is a revolutionary invisible fastening system which guarantees
a perfect finish for our exterior parquets. Manufactured in stainless
steel, this system allows a longer life for your garden decking.
Its simplicity greatly reduces laying time. B-Fix has been tried and
tested on over 200.000 m² of decking on numerous exotic species.
B-Fix is the perfect partner for your WOODlife ecological decking.
Our B-Fix line includes two complementary models: the B-fix One and the B-fix Border.
4a B-fix One
The B-Fix One is sold by the box (100 units). The box also includes 100 self-drilling
screws, instructions, and a Torx bit. One of B-Fix Ones’ finest attributes is the
remarkable amount of time saved laying the deck boards. They can easily be slotted
into place one after the other with regular spacing in between.
The number of B-Fix One units necessary for a project will depend on the distance
between the joists of the supporting structure and the width of the deck board being
used. To calculate the amount required simply multiply the number of deck boards,
minus one, by the number of joists.
Technical specifications
Dimensions B-Fix: 40mm x 34mm x 8,5mm
B-Screw: 5mm x 35mm – Tx 20
Composition B-Fix: stainless steel 301
B-Screw: stainless steel A2
Advantages Hard wearing, aesthetic, easily dismantled (from the front), simple to use.
Spacing B-Fix will automatically create a 4,5 to 5mm gap between each profiled deck board.
Expansion/Contraction B-Fix has a spring memory effect designed to allow decking to expand and contract
naturally while bringing it back systematically to its initial position. The first deck board
should be placed 4mm from the wall.
Consumption Ratio 190mm boards: 13 B - Fix/m², 140mm boards: 17 B - Fix/m², 100mm boards: 27 B-Fix/m²
Package Content (100) B-Fix, (100) B-Screw, (1) 20x50mm Torx bit,( 1) assembly instructions
Package Dimensions 210mm x 155mm x 80mm
Package Weight: 1,9 kg
4b B-fix Border
Sharing the same mechanical properties as the B-Fix One, the B-Fix Border permits
the first and last deck boards to be attached directly to the end of the joists
producing an entirely seamless finish to the decking. Plugging is thus no longer
necessary. The B-Fix Border is sold by the box, each box contains 5 sachets of 10
units and instructions. Self-drilling screws are also included. The Torx bit 20 is not
included in the Border Box. It is however supplied in the B-Fix One box. Each sachet
of 10 units is labeled, and has a separate bar code (gencode) from the box, so they
can be sold separately. Positioning the B-Fix Border is aided by the small ‘visor’ above
the screw holes which sits comfortably on the end of the joist, so no height
adjustment is necessary. The first deck board should be fitted after the B-Fix Border
is securely screwed to the joists.

8. Technical specifications :
Dimensions B-Fix Border: 40mm x 58mm x 8,5mm
Border-Screw: 5mm x 40mm – Tx 20
Composition B-Fix Border: stainless steel 301, Border-Screw: stainless steel A2
Advantages Hard-wearing, aesthetic, easily dismantled (from the front), simple to use.
Edge The B-Fix Border system allows the outside edge of the first deck board to be flush with the
edge of the supporting structure, whilst hiding the screws. The inside edge of the first deck
board is then fastened with B-Fix One.
Expansion/Contraction The B-Fix Border (and B-Fix One) fasteners have a spring memory effect designed to allow
each deck board to expand and contract naturally while bringing it back systematically to its
initial position.
Consumption Ratio depends on the spacing between the flooring joists.
Recommended spacing: every 40 to 50cm.

12. 7 Revolution in thermo treatment
Due to laws relating to the environment and the growing need for durable construction materials, the market for
modified wood is growing. WOODlife ecological decking meets this demand perfectly. It has good mechanical
features, a high durability, is very pretty and is even produced in a sustainable way. Relatively new on the market
of wood preservation is thermal wood modification, by which the wood is preserved through and through by just
using heat and steam.
Revolutionary system
Traditional heat treatment systems heat up the wood until 180-220 degrees Celsius. Unlike these traditional
systems, the innovative system used by WOODlife does not exceed 170 degrees Celsius, whilst the moisture
content of the timber does not sink below 8% during the treatment.
As a result, the wood maintains its mechanical characteristics such as strength and flexibility. Scientific research
indicates that, depending upon the type of wood used, durability class 1 is reached as a result of the process. At
the same time, the treatment process is forgiving towards natural wood imperfections.
The demand for environmentally friendly, durable wood is increasing. The answer is WOODlife ecological decking.
The heat treatment facility in the Netherlands.
