SHREVEPORT, LA - Dr. David Graham was born in
Shreveport, LA. He was born May 21, 1939 and passed away
Sunday, September 17, 2006 in Shreveport, LA following a
lengthy illness. Dr. Graham was 67.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, September
20, 2006 at First Assembly Church, 5720 Buncomb Road, Shreveport, LA.
Officiating will be Deacon John Milkovich and Reverend Dr. John Graham.
Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 12;00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at First
Assembly of God Church.
David was a family dentist in Shreveport for 36 years, 1968 to 2004. He proudly served his country as a Captain in
the United States Air Force from 1965 until 1968, including two years in the Vietnam War where he volunteered to
fly by helicopter into dangerous villages to provide dental care for private citizens. In Vietnam, he often was
required to care for seriously injured soldiers in addition to dental care, and received honorable discharge with
Bronze Star in July of 1968. After the war he often volunteered his dental services for free care for poor families
here.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Kirkland Graham and Lasca Thompson Graham, and by his
brothers, Asberry Graham and James Graham.
He is survived by his son, David M. Graham and wife, Melissa (David was always excited to see sonogram
pictures of his grandson to be born November 9, 2006); his stepdaughter, Staci Herrington and husband Charles;
the mother of his son, Elizabeth Baronette; his brothers, Marshall Graham and wife, Becky, Edwin Jones and wife,
Jackie, all of Shreveport, LA; Reverend Dr. John K. Graham and wife, Pat of Houston, TX; and brother Harry
Graham and wife, Louise, and his sisters, Margaret Graham both of Charlotte, NC, Jannie Free and Elizabeth
Dagley, both of St. Petersburg, FL.
David's family was so pleased with his personal, dental and church friends who visited him often the last 27
months. You made his days worth living the last two years. Today David is healthy and in the joyful presence of
Jesus his Savior.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to First Assembly Church, to Calvary
Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
