2. HistoryCurrent region of Pakistan served as fertile ground for some of the
most important civilizations of South Asia and as a gateway to the
subcontinent to the Middle East and Central Asia. Pakistan is home to
some of the most important archaeological sites, including the oldest
Paleolithic hominid site in South Asia, located in the valley of the river
Soan.
Culture94% of the population is Muslim. Because of its geography, Pakistan
inherited a rich and unique culture and has actively preserved its
established traditions throughout history.
Pakistani society is largely multilingual and multicultural part.
Religious practices of various faiths are part of daily life in society.
Despite having an image problem, especially in the West exaggerated,
and although the British magazine The Economist claims that is one of
the most dangerous countries in the world, tourism is still a growing
industry in Pakistan because of its diverse cultures, towns and
landscapes.
3. Geography
Pakistan is located south of the Asian continent and is bordered on
the northwest by Afghanistan, northeast China, east of India, west to
Iran and south to the Indian Ocean.
Armed forcesIn 2010, the Armed Forces of Pakistan was the world's eighth largest
in terms of full-time members, with about 617,000 active members
and more than 513,000 soldiers in the Armed Forces army booking.
Movies
In Pakistan there is an indigenous film industry known as Lollywood,
based in Lahore, which currently produces more than 40 films a year.
There was a time when mass produced Lollywood no less than 120
films per year. Pashto film industry, located in Peshawar, still produces
more than 50 films a year.
MusicPakistani music is represented by a wide variety of issues. From
traditional styles; as qawwali, to more modern styles that try to fuse
traditional Pakistani music with western music.
4. Gastronomy
Pakistani food is similar to Indian, but less spicy and there are
differences because of its Islamic influence. Like that, used in many of
its dishes curry and masala. The specialty is tandoori chiken.
Like India, it is often takes the drink made of yogurt smoothie with
cold water, which can be sweet or savory; his name lassi.
SportThe national sport of Pakistan is field hockey, although cricket is the
most popular throughout the country. The national cricket team won
the Cricket World Cup in 1992.
At the international level, Pakistan has competed several times in the
Summer Olympics in field hockey, boxing, athletics, swimming and
shooting. The medal Pakistan remains at 10 medals (3 gold, 3 silver
and 4 bronze)
Pakistan is a member of the UIS (International Union of Speleology)
country. Each year, the Rally of Freedom is an off-road race that takes
place during the celebrations of Independence.
