First of all thank joing us in SOL Talks!
1. Can you first tell us something about your history and current
job onboard our company?
My name is Claudio Garbellini, 47 years old. I have worked almost
20 years in VIVISOL, having started in 1996. At that time the focus
was 100% on the international development, which was exactly what
I wanted to do in my life. In the following years, the constant growth
and geographical diversification of VIVISOL allowed me to cover
different positions. I also had the opportunity to relocate for certain
periods in different Countries, which was a great professional and
personal experience. Today I am Western Europe Director,
responsible for all activities in the Western Europe outside of Italy. I
am also responsible of the Headquarters Marketing and Central
Services in Monza.
4. 2. Can you tell us more about Vivisol in Europe?
VIVISOL is today the third largest European Provider in our
specialization sector of Home Respiratory Care and we also provide
additional Home Healthcare Services, such as for nutrition therapy,
infusion therapy, wound care and others. We are active all over Europe
serving daily over 300.000 Patients. Our work is to organize the
personnel, the medical devices, the support network, the IT solutions
and coordinate all the resources necessary to allow the patients to stay
at home with the same care and sense of security and safeness that
they would receive in the Hospital.
VIVISOL is today employing over 1.500 people in all European
Countries and we are particularly proud of our multinational spirit. We
always wanted to be German in Germany, French in France, British in
UK and in general respecting and taking the advantages of the different
cultures and this approach is indeed strongly enriching ourselves.
5. 3. Claudio, which are Vivisol’s core values?
In the SOL group there are general values which are repeated
frequently as the pillars of the Company: these are the freedom of
information at all levels, organizing the work, so that everybody has the
right balance of responsibility and autonomy, the mutual respect and
transparency in the personal relationships at all level and the
passionate commitment to what you do. These, together with always
aiming for sustainable projects and never for short term solutions, are
in my opinion the distinctive characters of SOL.
But values are only words
without meanings, if you don’t
live them. More specific of
VIVISOL is the fact that the core
of our work is not to produce
some kind of products, but it is
delivering service which are
“supporting the Life”, and this is
what it makes it special.
There is a social role linked with
working in Home Care, and this
is source of responsibility and
motivation.
From the more personal point of view I think that there is a sort of
non written code common in the most of the colleagues of being as
much as possible true to yourself and the others and also to
sincerely enjoy life. I think this is perceived and appreciated also
outside of the Company.
6. 4. Why is Vivisol different from the other Home Care providers?
I think that in the home care world there is very little space for mistakes.
If you’re not doing good, even only in one single case, you could have a
negative impact on some aspect of the life of the patient and this is not
acceptable. So the first thing is to be able to provide an optimal and very
consistent performance and the first aspect the people would notice is
the solid “structured organisation” of VIVISOL. At the same time the
people performing these jobs are full of passion. This is the other
outstanding feature of VIVISOL: the attention to the patients and in
general everything that we do never became “industrial”.
A company in my view has always to be focused outside: listen and do
what is important for patients and customers. When the Companies
become big, there is the risk to become “too satisfied with yourself” or
get lost in internal discussions or projects without real added value and I
am glad to see that this has never been the case.
7. I am married and have 2 children, Cecilia Aurora 13 years old and
Federico 4. I was born in the alps and we travel there very often to
enjoy skiing or trekking together. When we have the possibility we
also love to have holiday time on the seaside.
In my free time I like sports and music first, but I am also a very
passionate reader. I played a lot of football and basketball when I
was younger and today I enjoy a lot running. Music plays an
important role in my life. My playlists would range from classical
music to Italian songwriters, with special attention for English rock
music and an old passion for the music of The Doors.

more about your hobbies and interests?
