Mc Donald’s was started in 1955 and has more
than 33,000 restaurant's all over the world! In the
United States of America there are at least
14,000 restaurant’s and they continue to grow!
Mc’ Donald’s is a franchise and prides it self on
quality food with a great value. It’s food is served
the same every time you eat at Mc’ Donald’s!

How Ray Crock Planned and
Lead Mc Donald’s
• Planned his Business from
Beginning to end
1) In 1950 he pitches to his brothers
the idea of spreading their
restaurant all over the United
States.
2) He bought the rights from his
brothers in 1955 to the Mc’ Donald’s
name.
3) He persuaded both franchisees and
suppliers to buy into his vision,
working not for McDonald’s, but for
themselves, together with
McDonald’s. He promoted the
slogan, “In business for yourself, but
not by yourself.”
• How he Lead the company
from begging to end
1) He created the Hamburger
University for Mangers to carry out
how he wanted his business ran
and important procedures done.
2) He donated to many charities
which shows others his good will
as a Leader.
3) He worked for Mc’ Donald’s from
the beginning to his death which
shows his true leading ability!
4) He let his best Franchise Leaders
create new menu items.
5) Always gave service with a
huge Mc Donald’s smile!
Organization and Controlling
• How he Organized
Mc’ Donald’s
1) By setting up exactly how he
wanted his business run this
was organization.
2) By him deciding they would only
have burgers, fries, and drinks
he organized the food sold and
ultimately created a menu.
3) By deciding to keep the
company mission standard
through the Franchise he
displayed organization.
4) By being dedicated to his
business appearance this is
keeping his business organized.

1) He keep control over his
company calling near by
businesses and reminding them
of the company's standards of
excellence.
2) He made sure every Manager
was trained in Mc Donald’s
Methods of storing, cooking, and
serving food.
3) He was involved in business
operation un till his death in San
Diego, California on January
14th, 1984.
