1. THE COMPANY
ALTERRA SA, which was established in 2002, operates in the
area of frozen fruit and vegetables. In 2005, on a 60.000 sq.m
privately – owned plot of land situated in the Giannitsa – Pella area
ALTERRA SA created a processing and deep freeze unit for fruit
and vegetables that has been designed and operates using cutting
– edge technological equipment.
The company’s activity focuses on production and distribution both
abroad and domestically, of frozen fruit and vegetables.
ALTERRA SA’s products target industries processing yoghurt – ice
creams, juices, jams – marmalades, baby foods, bakery –
confectionary, pastry industries, food distribution networks as well
as Super Markets (S/M) with retail packaging, either as branded
product (PELLA) or as private label products (P/L).
The company’s maintains a competitive position in the Greek and
international market through the quality of its products and
services and its highly specialized and experienced staff. Right
from its first year of operation, the company acquired the following
certifications: ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005, IFS International
2. Food Standard / Higher Level, BRC, GLOBAL GAP. The company
applies Contractual Farming in vegetables and integrated farming
systems in fruits. The company is organized with quality
departments which control and certify the quality of the products
with internal laboratories (microbiological).
ALTERRA SA currently employs 58 permanent and 380 temporary
staff and has an annual production capacity of 20.000 tones.
It has privately owned areas for the preservation of frozen products
with a drive in / back to back storage system and implements
automated inventory management systems (WMS).
