4. Story of River Sarayu:
Vashishtha Muni saw the vision of Lord Vishnu to be born on earth. So he
approached Bramha to bring river Sarayu on earth. Bramha said it is difficult. But
as purpose is fixed she came down to earth. But her way was blocked by Muni
Markandeya who was meditating on her way. Principally, he should not be
disturbed. Vashishtha seeks help from Lord Shiva. So Lord Shiva created a scene of
tiger attacking cow. In which he played role of tiger and role of cow by Maa Parvati.
By this he gifted Markandeya with moksha and solve the problem of Vashishtha.
