We apply the following definitions for different
hats: S/N HAT MODEL

very logical

new ideas

process-oriented
5. BLACK HAT A “devil’s advocate,” a person who
uncovers what won’t work, wears the
black hat.
6. YELLOW HAT A person sees the positive side of
everything
4. WHO AM I?
• I AM CREATIVE
• I AM ORIGINAL
• I AM DECISIVE
5. EFFECTS OF MY ORIGINALITY
• I often find myself wearing different hats during problems solving and team work
• But often times I like taking initiative to proffer solutions.
• So I fall in the group who likes generating new ideas to solve existing problems or
tackle new ones.
6. Hat color that is most comfortable for
me
• The Green Hat is ideal for me.
• This brings out my ingenuity.
7. Hat color that is least comfortable for
me
• The Yellow Hat.
• The reason is that I will just be going with the
flow. (Not sure i fit in here)
8. MY ROLES / HATS FOR TEAM WORK
• I found out that during team assignments and
for different problems I have had cause to
wear more than one hat.
9. MY ROLES / HATS FOR TEAM WORK
• The Yellow Hat.
During one of our team assignments, I had come up
with a very good solution / presentation which a lot of
team members liked but the team lead wasn’t to keen
on it so we were asked to vote and a prezi brain map
and another solution was adopted
I liked it so I gave some useful suggestions as required
by the team and just went with the flow– so I switched
from the green hat to the yellow hat ---Its all good.
10. MY ROLES / HATS FOR TEAM WORK
• The Black Hat.
I have used this often in lots of team work.
The case here is that I have to wait for solutions by other team
members before criticizing.
It seems like a lot of fun just finding faults, but it is a solution in a
lot of ways.
11. MY ROLES / HATS FOR TEAM WORK
• The Blue Hat.
I use this often daily and in lots of team work.
The case here is that as a business inclined person I concerned
with logical reasoning /processes and it is a great advantage for
my technical team members who are not thus inclined.
12. MY ROLES / HATS FOR TEAM WORK
• The Red Hat.
This has helped me in certain ways but the disadvantage
here is that emotions are involved some times which can
be unreliable in taking certain decisions.
In a certain team assignment there was a problem which
we had to analyze, and we had to take a decision based
on the final analysis.
I made a decision based on my emotions (personal
experience on the topic) so intuitively it seems like the
most logical decision to me. But of-course my team
wanted a decision that was all encompassing and I guess
we all settled for the best.
14. MY ROLES / HATS FOR TEAM WORK
• The white Hat.
This has helped me in a lot of ways where logical
reasoning devoid of sentiments is required for
certain decisions during team work.
In cases like this I get along very well with my
technical team members in problems where we
need to tackle Information Technology related
issues.
15. MY ROLES / HATS FOR TEAM WORK
• The white Hat.
