1. Why

2.2
Using
Cooperative
Learning
in
your
Unit
Plan.
Class
Organization:
The
video
will
be
presented
to
the
whole
class,
in
the
first
lesson.
The
students
are
divided
in
groups
of
4-‐5
people
each
during
the
realization
of
the
crafts
(Turkey
Headband
and
Postcard)
in
order
to
foster
concentration,
collaboration
and
interaction.
The
teams
will
change
from
lesson
to
lesson
in
order
to
promote
interaction
among
all
the
students.
Flashcard
game
will
be
done
in
teams
to
foster
students’
teamwork
and
involvement.
Round
Robin
and
Circumlocution
games
will
be
done
in
teams.
They
will
last
around
10
minutes
each
one.
These
games
have
a
very
similar
structure
(describing
something
to
someone
who
has
to
guess
it)
even
though
the
public
is
different
(team
or
the
whole
class).
The
similarity
was
the
reason
why
they
have
been
were
selected:
they
foster
repetition
of
the
same
model,
which
is
a
great
asset
in
kids’
learning
process.
Moreover
defining
an
object
and
finding
relation
with
the
outside
word
is
an
objective
of
this
unit.
Cooperative
Learning
Technique
1:
Round
Robin
describing
geometrical
shapes
and
colours
The
students
are
divided
in
teams
of
4-‐5
pupils
each.
Each
student
has
15’’
to
describe
a
colour
or
a
geometrical
shape
(without
naming
it!)
to
his/her
teams.
S/He
has
to
make
2-‐3
sentences
and
provide
examples
from
the
real
life.
His/her
mates
have
to
guess.
In
case
the
speaker
gets
stuck,
his/her
teammates
should
help
him/her
asking
open-‐ended
questions.
Task
you
are
going
to
work:
Capacity
to
define
geometrical
shapes
and
colours.
Review
of
the
vocabulary
Find
a
relation
between
geometry
and
colours
with
the
real
life.

Cooperative

Technique
2:
Circumlocution
game
on
the
vocabulary
The
teacher
asks
to
students
to
think
about
an
object
they
want
describe.
It
should
be
a
concept
related
to
the
unit
or
an
item
we
are
using
in
class.
Then
the
students
have
to
write
down
the
name
of
their
object
and
their
own
name
in
a
paper,
fold
it
and
give
it
to
the
teacher.
The
students
are
divided
in
teams
of
4-‐5
people
each
one.
The
teacher
picks
up
one
paper
and
calls
the
due
student
to
describe
to
the
whole
class
the
item
(s)he
chose.
The
student
has
to
produce
at
least
3
short
sentences.
The
team
that
guesses
the
name
of
the
object
gets
the
point.
The
game
should
be
repeated
as
many
times
as
necessary
to
give
the
opportunity
to
each
child
to
speak
in
public.
Task
you
are
going
to
work:
Capacity
to
define
object
or
concept
and
talk
to
a
large
audience
(the
class)
