2. NEOCLASSICISM
• Began in mid 18th century and it first gained influence in
England and France.
• Derived from architecture of classical antiquity, the
Vitruvian principles, and the work of Italian architect
Andrea Palladio.
• Neoclassical architecture is still designed today, but maybe
labelled New Classical Architecture for contemporary
buildings.
• Features are grand scale of building, simplicity of
geometric forms, Greek detailing, dramatic columns, and
blank walls.
10. STYLE OF THE BUILDING
• The Schauspielhaus building is based on Shoebox
Design.
• More light inside the building.
• Harmonious Facade.
• The central section consists of large theater hall, the
north wing consists of rehearsal halls, wardrobe and
storage rooms and the smaller concert hall was located in
the south wing.
