This report summarizes the problems female students face with the university transport system and provides recommendations. It identifies the main problems as: 1) inconvenient bus timings, 2) an uncomfortable atmosphere on buses, 3) unkind driver behavior toward female students, 4) lack of security checks on buses, and 5) issues with bus routes and speeding. It recommends appointing trained drivers, issuing bus passes to students, designing reasonable routes, increasing accountability and oversight of drivers, and limiting bus capacity. Addressing these issues could improve the transport system by 90%.
4. The problems of students regarding transport system after being
admitted to university are manifold that this report highlights.
This report is important in view of getting advantage of transport
facility and make good name of our university in our country.
We hope that our recommendations will be helpful as you
consider the transport problems and struggle continuously to
eliminate them by their roots for the better quality of transport
for females in this university.
5.
6. The main findings have been
classified into five sections:
(1) Timing problems
(2) Behavior problems
(3) Route problems
(4) Security problems
(5) General Problems
12. The behavior of the driver matters a lot for females talking with
them. Drivers must show respect when talking with any student.
Driver show rude behavior to students.
Bus Driver do not provide information correctly. Gives unsatisfactory answer.
Drivers do irrelevant discussion in bus which makes female
uncomfortable.
14. 3. Route Problem
• Bus routes are regularly followed by a student.
• There is a need to make a complete planner
and fix the bus routes.
• Long bus routes should be eliminated from the
route planner.
18. 5. General Problems
Suffocating Atmosphere in Bus->
Bad Management
Untrained Driver
Less Number of buses
No evaluation of driver
No wait for females in pickup
Over speeding
21. Technical evidence leads us to conclude that problems faced by
majority of students with the transport system are:
1. Timings of bus,
2. Uncomfortable atmosphere,
3. Unkind behavior of drivers with females,
4. No bus pass or checking of university id card for security,
5. Bus routes, improper/fast driving and bad transport management.
22. Females also suffer from long wait due to late arrival
of bus and negligence behavior of transport
management towards students’ complaints about:
Driver’s over speeding,
Non co-operation,
Long routes and
Suffocated atmosphere due to overloading in bus.
These problems are degrading confidence level of
students to travel in bus, giving confidence to untrained
drivers ultimately affecting reputation of IIUI.
23. Some recommendations that can bring
positive changes in the transport system
of university are:
Appoint highly trained drivers for driving a
bus.
Design bus pass for every female who
travels in bus, also enrolled in the university.
It will discourage outsiders to travel in bus.
Bus routes should not be too long which
makes females uncomfortable and late in
reaching home
24. Drivers should co-operate on
telling bus routes.
Management should take strict
action on complaint reported by
any female student.
Increase number of
buses
Drivers should not over speed while
driving to avoid any accident.
Organize one day in a month for
evaluation of drivers
Implement restrictions on allowing
more than 60 girls on one bus.
25. If these recommendations are taken seriously and followed
strictly then there is ninety percent probability that Transport
System of IIUI will be improved and problems of students
with their drivers will decrease sharply.
