 As we grow closer to the year 2020, we all seeing the evidence of the passage of time. The arrival of this futuristic time brings a shift in all what we know about stages of life: Baby Boomers are extending their retirement, GenXers are turning 50, Millennials are either consulting blogs to be a better parent or extending their teenager days, while GenZ is eager to start working because the world they live in asks them to mature faster. ! By 2060, the world pyramid population will evolve into a world dome population; The percentage of babies being born is decreasing while global life expectancy stands at 72 years, (increased by 6 years since 2001). With an extended window of lifetime, people will have more opportunity to have a paradigm shift towards aging. ! We will encounter more services to decelerate aging through living an enriched life, and there will be more spaces to grow personal talents for seniors. We will see a higher level of energetic grownups. In a context where stories are prized, experience will become an element of pride. ! Tech companies are bringing together a puzzle of their interpretation of what it means to be a human: Artificial intelligence, cognitive computing, emotion recognition, instant reactions, walking with balance, talking warmly, 
 self-driving, deciding; machines are evolving from being a productive tool to become a caring being. 
 Robots are beginning to understand complex concepts like competition, protection, trust, and joy. ! Research specialist at the MIT Media LAB and robot ethics expert Dr. Kate Darling affirms in her publication “Who’s Johnny”: “People have a tendency to project life-like qualities onto robot. Framing robots through anthropomorphic language can impact on how people perceive and treat a robot”. ! Artificial intelligence will be programmed with real human emotions, and in return humans will develop empathy and honor towards the identity of the machine. Soon we will argue for the “human” rights of a robot.

Preschool coding classes are on the rise in China, while in England, Japan and Israel computer science is now a mandatory subject for students from 5 to 16 years old. In USA Obama launched Computer Science For All -a program to give every student the opportunity to learn computer science and computational thinking skills; parents in India are eager to register their children to a coding club and in Mexico public schools launched a pilot plan to teach children create robots. 
 Parents have a feeling they could have the next Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg at home and there is an industry growing around that dream. Scratch -developed by the MIT- is a pioneer who has created a legacy in spreading coding knowledge and inspiring organizations to follow their mission; it makes computer programming approachable for kids by inviting them to connect blocks of codes to build programs. These kids are being prepared for a competitive world where most of the jobs they perform will be digitalized. ! Science is becoming easier to absorb. Toys are evolving from being an entertainment object to an educative tool. Software will own a big part of the infant episodes and that will shift the meaning of privacy in early childhood. These new kids will solve big world problems with their enhanced imaginations and that will matter to them because they will be alive in the XXII century. HACKIDS

Top-notch candidates are searching to find themselves. ! Nowadays there is a pursuit of fulfillment at work, which brings a rise of expectations and frustrations. According to a Gallup poll, two out of three working Americans don’t feel engaged in their jobs. The good news is that their current position might disappear since experts predict that 50 percent of occupations today will no longer exist by 2025. Independence is a growing option- a recent study of Freelancers Union shows that there are 55 million people in the U.S. doing freelance work, which represents 35% of the total workforce; together they contributed $1 trillion dollars to the economy in 2016. ! College students are absorbing life-time debts for skills that will expire soon. They have arrived to the job market in a moment of disruptive transformation within every industry and this situation demands a constant update of skills, just as their smart phones do. Learning fast is key, but unlearning faster is crucial. ! The constant adaptation is also required to recruiters; today a sort of Gamification is happening to find the ideal candidate for a company, however talented people experience a battle between having free time and earning a juicy paycheck. Here is where the utopia becomes reality through the birth of digital nomads - those who can be productive and travel the world at the same time.

According to an EXXON mobile future of energy report, by 2040 the consumption of fossil fuels will decrease to 80%. Since most part of current infrastructure is designed to consume oil, it will remain as the primary energy source for a long time. We will not become entirely sustainable soon, but urgency will spark affordable innovations. ! As history has shown, countries that extract oil tend to be surrounded by corruption or conflicts; oil detonates wars. The traditional way to produce energy is centralized; few enjoy the benefits, while the sun and the wind are more democratic. If we analyze the term “clean energy” it’s not just about using renewable sources, it has an inner component about good behaviors towards Mother Nature. ! According to the Advanced Energy report, the U.S. clean energy was valued at $200 billion in 2016 and $1.35 trillion globally. Infrastructure is key; the smaller the country the bigger the change. While wind power represents only 5% of all energy consumed in the U.S., in Denmark that rate is 42%. Smaller countries, such as Costa Rica are reliant 100% on renewable energy. We will start valorizing locations for their contribution to the power plants with their natural resources: wind, solar, or hydropower. However, China is planning to mine the moon to bring Helium-3, 
 a substance that can provide energy, to mankind for the next 10,000 years. Ethics will divide opinions.

That old sense of craftsmanship and detail is back once again in the 21st century. In the era of selfies, VR, predictive algorithms, suggestions based on previous purchases, face recognition, and 3D scanning it is very likely for a brand to please its customers. However, it requires dedication. ! Based on McKinsey, personalization can deliver five to eight times the ROI on marketing costs and lift sales 20% or more. Infosys affirms that 86% of consumers have said that personalization plays a role in their purchasing decisions. People want to have a unique creation inspired by them. Today anyone can be a their own brand muse. ! The information of our bodies, our feelings, and even our DNA can bring an extremely tailored experience. No one can be against its own composition. !

 Medical patients will demand in the same way regular consumers do: convenience, fast and enjoyable consultations, but also smart treatments. Doctors will have more practical follow-up consultations through their smartphones and more data to understand a condition, however they must be ready to confront more prepared and overcritical patients. ! The American Telemedicine Association estimates almost 20 million patients received some kind of medical care remotely in 2016, and according to the IMS Institute for Healthcare informatics there are more than 165,000 mobile health apps on the market. Through smartphones the medicine industry is required to accelerate its processes. ! Both Data Analytics and DNA storage will hyper-personalize medical treatments and create effective predictions to prevent conditions. We love opening boxes, even when we already know what is inside. All the infrastructure and connected satellites provide us with a magical experience, all coming down to the need to feel special, to feel treated well by the company you paid. However, love can turn into mistrust or even hate if promises are not accomplished. ! Companies are aiming to be part of the Industry 4.0- automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. According to PWC $907 billion in investments are expected until 2020 to update the process of production and logistics, because today 67% of companies don’t feel they have achieved advanced levels of digitalization. ! Love is invisible, but you can feel it. And the same is for logistics; there are many process that are invisible but we benefit from them. Categories are joining in marriage to provide us the things we love and need. DHL understands fashion is the definition of a fast moving industry. Fedex supports healthcare by providing patients instant delivery of their medicines. ! For our accelerated lives, the optimization of logistics will give us back some of our time. We could either be more productive or be entertained, or we could use that time to be with our loved ones.

Half of a decade after the movement occupy Wall Street, investor mistrust still plagues financial institutions. 
 The interest to redistribute wealth in a fair way and the need of getting rid of bureaucracy has embraced a new generation of decentralized apps -many of them from Silicon Valley- taking place in the finance world, giving consumers the power to take control as experts and making money transfers as easy as a social media post. ! Crypto-currencies have created a democratic model of financial movements in the digital world, where individuals can trade with no need of a bank. Bitcoin, the first and most honored crypto-currency, is starting to be accepted in companies like Paypal, Amazon, WordPress, and Subway. However, new crypto-currencies and other electronic ways of payment are being created every day. ! Just as social media impacted traditional media, the new concept of money will bring creativity and new celebrities in the fintech world. Of course there will be resistance coming from the traditional bankers, but the infrastructure of cash as we know it has already start its evolution. How we earn, save, spend, lend, distribute and protect money is changing. Wall Street is not the only route for financial traffic anymore. ! My two cents.

In 2015, the cyber security market reached $75 billion and is expected to grow to $170 billion by 2020, according to Forbes.
