In tyre manufacturing process utility services are very
critical .
It is required to have uniferrupted supply of steam, hot
water , cold water , air & electricity for vulcanizations
of green tyre.

DIP UNIT
This unit is 3-T dependent unit.
Time
Tension
Temperature
The fabric for the tyre is processed in this
unit. The fabric is passed through different
operating conditions.
9. 9KTP
UNDERSTANDING OF PROCESS
The first stage is Let-off. The fabric is stored
in form of rolls at the Let-off. Accumulator
where the fabric is accumulated, from let-
off .The fabric is passed to hold back. Where
the fabric is treated with D-5 chemical which
is Latex in nature. Here the fabric is given a
strength of 2%. After the acquired strength
the fabric goes to dryer zone via vacuum box.
In the dryer zone steam drying of fabric takes
place. From where it is send to first pull roll
which are basically two rolling cylinder.

TYRE BUILDING
• The components which have been
manufactured at previous stages, are fed to the
tyre building m/c to build green tyre. Tyre
building operator keeps drawing required
length of plies from the loaded turret on to the
one at a time. The green tyre is then taken to
jamming m/c where the joint at the tread is
pressed so that it doesn’t open out. Aim of
giving this chemical coat inside it to reduce
sticking chance of the tyre in the mould during
the curing operation. Green tyres are now
taken to the fixed slaned where these are kept
for min. for 8 Hrs.

VULCANIZATION
The “green” tyre is placed in a curing press for a certain period of
time (10-15 minutes) at a specific pressure and temperature.
Once heat and pressure has been applied to the tyre, it is then
removed from the mould having achieved its final size, shape and
tread pattern.

FINAL FINISHING
S
Trimming
Excess rubber from the curing process is removed, and
the tyre is
trimmed to order.
Final inspection
Each tyre is visually and electronically inspected for balance, quality
and uniformity. This final check ensures consistent and reliable
performance.
