Julia & Erica
Welcome
Introduction
Role and Responsibilities
SPEAKER: Julia
ER model- Consultation approach, account managers, customized services “one size does not fit all.”
Most of our presentation will be a chronological walk through of the recruitment calendar and the appropriate branding opportunities
SPEAKER: Julia & Erica
Julia: The CRC is centralized and comprehensive. What does that mean?
Julia: Explain CIE
Erica: Explain IR
Erica: CRC’s mentality is customization- One size doesn’t fit all
Julia: Use an account manager system to deliver consultations, where a CRC staff member listens to your unique recruiting needs in a one-on-one interaction and recommends which diverse services are most appropriate for you to create a layered, comprehensive approach to recruiting
SPEAKER: Julia & Erica
Julia: Do you have a certain number of hires? Are you entry level vs. experienced? Is there a certain degree level or major? Anticipating growth in a particular sector of the company? What will next year look like for you company?
Erica: Introduce student recruitment timeline: rough sketch of suggestions for how to amplify your branding/presence on campus. Fall Career Showcase kicks off Fall recruitment season and Spring Showcase kicks off the Spring recruitment season
Erica: So why do we have this timeline? Emphasize the reasons why we have a recruitment timeline (planning and preparation, multiple touch points, etc.)
Julia: It is also created in response to the UF student profile
Be mindful of what students are doing. Not all students are last minute.
Discuss student profile – high achieving
Erica: We are now going to go through the recruitment timeline in chronological chunks and provide you with some ideas you could consider to really maximize your year. Please keep in mind we are giving you lots of ideas, but it’s important to decide really what makes the most sense for you. Is it two things all year that you can commit to? Is it two things per month you can commit to?
SPEAKER: Julia
So this is the time to look towards the year ahead and set your goals and expectations.

Adjustments of recruiting throughout the transition – will be in new Center around May of 2018, so all of the Fall & Spring On-Campus Recruiting activities will take place in various locations around the Reitz Union

SPEAKER: Julia & Erica
Time to begin wrapping up the Fall recruitment season. As you are doing this, there are a few things to consider:
Erica: Reading Days—classes are cancelled to give students time to focus on exams. Not a good time to schedule interviews or events
CRC has a policy of no interviews during exam week in an effort to allow students to focus on finals. You’ll see these dates are unavailable for you to schedule interviews
Julia: Fall graduating class is always smaller than Spring
Julia: Holiday break- Students are gone, attention directed elsewhere. Not ideal time for recruiting
Erica: But it is an ideal time to begin planning your Spring approach – connect with your account manager to discuss how semester went and plan ahead!
Register/schedule spring events
Career Fairs
Interviews
Info Sessions
SPEAKER: Erica
SPEAKER: Erica
Discuss general time frame, nothing set in stone
Not in GCL for dates—monitor college websites or check with the CRC
SPEAKERS: Erica
Mid Spring is a good time to ramp up your internship search. You may have already started in Fall, but now is a time to finish strong. Not only are students planning ahead, but those who are receiving course credit for summer experiences need to register for their internship course credits now.
-Can do this at the Summer Job and Internship Fair
-Be wary about Spring Break and mid-term exams. Students’ priorities are elsewhere at this time
SPEAKER: Erica
SPEAKER: Julia & Erica
Erica: Note Spring commencement
Erica: Reminder that room reservations for NEXT fall open up, along with registration for Fall Career Showcase
Julia: Explain the Statewide Job Fair and the FCC consortium. Open to students from FCC schools, typically see a high percentage of UCF students since it’s on their campus
Julia: Explain significance of reporting your hires and where it’s located in GCL (soft reminder to do so)
SPEAKER: Julia
SPEAKER: Julia
Introduce Gator CareerLink and importance of updating their profile
SPEAKER: Julia
Be sure to incorporate your social media into your recruitment strategy. Consider these various outlets.
SPEAKER: Julia
Reference the activity-we’ve provided you sample timeline to fill in and a handout of important dates throughout the academic year. This can be used for other schools you may recruit at as well.
