INTRODUCTION
TROJAN HORSE(Computing):-
• A computer virus is a computer program that
can copy itself and infect a computer without
permission or knowledge of the user.
• A Trojan Horse is a program that installs
malicious software while under the guide of
doing something else.
BIOLOGICAL TROJAN HORSE:-
• In human cells, use viruses as a 'Trojan Horse' to
transport a messenger that encourages the
immune system to fight the viral infection.
• They compared these to cells from genetically
engineered mice that were cGAS free and found
that where cGAMP was produced, it travelled
within the virus particles.
IMPORTANT ABBREVIATIONS
• aaRS aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase
• aa-tRNA aminoacyl-tRNA
• aaRSi aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase inhibitor
• mRNA messenger ribonucleic acid
• AMP Adenosine-5’-monophosphate
• ATP Adenosine-5’-triphosphate
• DCM Dichloromethane
• McC Mature Microcin C
• Cbz Benzyloxycarbonyl & etc.
IUPAC ABBREVIATIONS FOR AMINO ACIDS
MCC: TROJAN HORSE INHIBITOR
• Mature microcin C is actively taken up by sensitive cells
via YejABEF transporter. The McC peptide part is crucial
for the recognition by the YejABEF transporter.
Although the biological function of YejABEF and the
natural substrate for the transporter is not known, it is
believed that the YejABEF transporter may be involved
in the transport of oligopeptides inside the cells.
 Mechanisms of McC resistance or self immunity against
McC.
 McC-based analogues as potential antibiotics.
“TROJAN HORSE” OF IMMUNE SYSTEM
REVEALED
• Human cells use viruses as a ‘Trojan Horse’ to
transport a messenger that encourages the
immune system to fight the viral infection.
• At Oxford University they
discovered that as part of this
mechanism, as some viruses
replicate within the cell they
incorporate cGAMP – a signalling molecule that
activates the immune system – which can
prompt an immune response.
“TROJAN HORSE” ANTIBIOTIC EFFECTIVE
AGAINST DRUG RESISTANT BACTERIA
• A new antibiotic which acts as a “Trojan horse”
has proved effective against drug-resistant
bacteria, researchers have said.
• Scientists say trials on 448 people with kidney or
urinary tract infections(UTI) found the drug
cefiderocol eradicated germs just as effectively as
current treatments.
• Cefiderocol was found to be both safe and
tolerable in a population of older patients who
were very ill with complex conditions.
• The drug tricks the bacteria’s biology by
binding to iron to enter cells – working much
like the Trojan horse that was used to sneak
the ancient Greeks into the city of Troy.
“TROJAN HORSE” CANCER DRUG CAN EXTEND
SURVIVAL WHERE OTHER TREATMENTS FAIL
• A cancer drug which uses an unprecedented
“Trojan horse” approach to destroy tumours
from the inside.
• UK researchers have hailed the results from
early human tests of the drug, known as
tisotumab vedotin (TV), after it stopped or
shrank tumours in patients with no other
options left.
• The treatment combines a cancer-killing
chemotherapy agent with an antibody, a
biological molecule which binds to markers on
the surface of cancer cells and causes the drug
to be drawn inside.
• The treatment ‘s
mechanism of action is
completely novel it acts
like a Trojan horse to
sneak into cancer cells and kill them from the
inside.
A TROJAN HORSE MECHANISM OF BACTERIAL
PATHOGENESIS AGAINST NEMATODES
• The bacterium Bacillus nematocida B16 lures
nematodes by emitting potent volatile organic
compounds that are much more attractive to
worms than those from ordinary dietary bacteria.
• Seventeen B.nematocida-attractant volatile
organic compounds are identified, and seven
are individually confirmed to lure nematodes.
• Once the bacteria enter the intestine of
nematodes, they secrete two proteases with
broad substrate ranges but preferentially
target essential intestinal proteins, leading to
nematode death.
CONCLUSION
• Trojan Horse it self a virus , but it may act as
antibiotic & drugs, depends upon the situation
or pray of the users. It is approved by
researchers, the virus “Trojan Horse” helps in
many medical situations, like it able to destroy
tumours from the inside . Many cancer cases
and it also effective against drug-resistant
bacteria.
