2. 1.0 Introduction
In the 21st century, the internet is a huge part of everyone's life. We wake up and the first thing
we do is check our Instagram feed, catch up on the news and enter a digital world where
everything seems so simple. But the key word is "seems" because the Internet has absorbed a
big part of humanity and we, like zombies, started to live on the phone rather than in reality. And
no one can say good or bad, some scientists say that with the help of the Internet we are
constantly evolving, and its power should be used to gain new knowledge and skills that will
improve the quality of our lives. But others believe that the internet is consuming our time, which
is so fleeting. But the digital world is not only present in our routine but has generally clouded all
areas of our lives.
After doing my research, I have concluded that our world has become digital. This is due to the
numbers that the 2022 statistics give us: more than 63% of the world's total population has
access to the internet around the world. That's over 5 billion people, by the way. Impressive, isn't
it? That is, someone's idea of creating a network of unprecedented popularity has become a
global hotbed of life. Let's break down what branch of the Internet has taken on such a scale that
it envelops not just one person but the structure of an entire country. And that is the digital
economy.
The digital economy is a type of economic activity that involves the use of networked technology.
It is a systematically organized structure of relationships between actors and includes e-
commerce, e-business and markets, and telecommunication services. We can distinguish several
components of the digital economy: the hardware infrastructure, which covers various kinds of
business processes, e-commerce (which implies the delivery of virtual goods using the Internet),
implemented through Internet networks and satisfying virtual interactions between market
points. Which is currently considered to be the largest segment of the digital economy.
