4. Imperfect Imitation
• A camera is an imperfect imitation of the human eye.
• A camera sees by means of a lens which gathers reflected light.

• The camera lens directs the pattern of light into a number of sensitive
surfaces.
• Still photography recorded light patterns on light-sensitive film.

• Take images at a faster speed and more often.
• When the number of frames recorded per second are projected at the same
rate it gives the illusion of continuous movement.
• The brain fills in the gaps between the frames.
• Persistence of vision.

13. Sensor
• In digital cameras image sensor are either charge coupled device (CCD) or
complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS).

15. Viewfinder to TV
• The process is then reversed to recreate the original image.
• Persistence of vision causes the viewer to perceive the frames as continuous
movement.
