11. A few thoughts centered upon Christ:
-Maxwell
The Savior personally acts as gatekeeper of the Celestial Kingdom - not to exclude but
to personally welcome and embrace those who have made it back home.
Testimonies of those that have experienced the Savior’s presence.
-Melvin J Ballard
Had the privilege for a brief moment to dream of being in the presence of Christ, He
recounts:
“If I shall live to be a million years old, I shall never forget that smile. The Savior took
me into his arms and kissed me, pressed me to his bosom, and blessed me, until the
marrow of my bones seemed to melt! The feeling that I had in the presence of him
who hath all things in his hands, to have his love, his affection, and his blessing was such
that if I ever can receive that of which I had but a foretaste, I would give all that I am, all
that I ever hope to be, to feel what I then felt.”
12. -David of Ancient Israel
Who knew the pangs of separation pleaded - “Cast me not away from thy presence”
-Cain
upon learning that he had been driven from the face of the Lord, cried out, “my
punishment is greater that I can bear.” Even Cain in his deprived condition shuddered
at the thought of banishment from God, that one being who had shed forth warmth
and love, even for him.
-Joseph Smith
The veil was taken from our minds, and the eyes of our understanding were
opened. We saw the Lord standing upon the breastwork of the pulpit, before us; and
under his feet was a paved work of pure gold, in color like amber. His eyes were as a
flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone
above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great
waters, even the voice of dJehovah, saying: I am the first and the last; I am he who
liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father. Behold, your sins are
forgiven you; you are clean before me; therefore, lift up your heads and rejoice. D&C
