WEATHER & BEST TIME TO VISIT
• Temperature:
• Summer: Max 30 degree Celsius, Min -3 degree Celsius
• Winter: Max 15 degree Celsius, Min -20 degree Celsius
• The best time to visit Ladakh is from June to October. For trekkers, the peak season is in July/August.
• Winters are not ideal for travel to Leh Ladakh as the temperature in Ladakh falls to below zero degree often and the
weather is quite cold and harsh.
• Because of heavy snowfall, the roads because unmotorable.

HOW TO REACH
• By Air: Kushok Bakula Rimpochee is the only airport in Leh Ladakh and one of the highest airports perched at an
elevation 3256 m. The flights are directly connected from Delhi, Srinagar and Jammu & the flights are run by Air
India, Go Air and Jet Airways. The schedules are set already though, but these are subject to change according to
the weather.
• By Road: There are two main highways to reach Leh Ladakh by road. One is Manali – Leh highway and second is
Srinagar - Leh Highway. The first approach is Srinagar – Leh Highway is mostly open between July and November
and this route covers a distance of 434 km. The second approach is Manali – Leh Highway which is mostly opens
from mid-June to early-October and cover around 473 km.
• By Rail: Closest railway station is Jammu Tawi, Located on the distance of approximately 708 km from Leh. In
order to reach Leh Ladakh, you have to take taxi/bus service to reach and this will take around 15 hours.
