Tricia Hartman has worked for the Department of Engineering for two years as a summer intern and part-time employee. Her supervisor, Sky Schelle, writes that Tricia is an outstanding employee who is punctual, willing to take on new challenges, and able to complete tasks independently after proper instruction. Tricia excelled in both field work such as inspections and office work like creating public communications. Schelle strongly recommends Tricia as she continues her career and is confident her skills will continue growing.

To Whom It May Concern:
Tricia Hartman has been a valuable employee for two years and I am pleased to write her a letter of recommendation.
In May 2014, after her sophomore year of college, Tricia was hired as a full time summer intern. Her work was
outstanding and I gladly offered to keep her on part time once the next semester started. At the end of her junior year
(May 2015) I asked Tricia to come back full time for the summer and continue part time until her graduation in 2016.
Tricia has a lot of qualities one desires in an employee. She is extremely punctual and when an absence from work is
necessary gives the appropriate notice. Tricia is quick to pick up new tasks and does not shy away from a challenge.
She’s also not afraid to ask questions or for help.
Tricia’s work was divided between the field and the office. She is a creative person who can communicate messages
graphically and through writing and I depended on her to create much of the public communication pieces our office
produced. While in the field, Tricia was tasked with inspection work and representing the City in front of property
owners. No matter what the task, I always felt that Tricia could independently complete it if given the appropriate
amount of instruction and direction. Once she successfully mastered something, I never felt the need to look over her
shoulder or ensure it was being done correctly.
As Tricia moves through the workforce, I know she’ll continue to add skills and build her marketability. I strongly
recommend her for any position she is interested in.
If I can be of any more service in helping you evaluate Tricia Hartman, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Sky Schelle
