Our People...
Tours generally operate with one pilot (two on request) who also doubles as a tour guide and your
personal organiser, two pilots are available on request.
Tours are exclusive with small groups of 1 to 10 passengers. This is ideal as the locations are
normally remote and accordingly the group size allows for personal attention.
Our outback air tours provide comprehensive travel and activities throughout Australia and include
fishing, walking, climbing for the energetic, boat cruises, four wheel driving, aboriginal art or just
scenic touring. The scenery is a special blend of diverse ranges, gorges, savannah, rivers, lakes,
cities, iconic outback towns, and of course our unique wildlife… great for the keen photographer.

Moorabbin Air Charters
promotes the use of our aircraft
for private air charters when
you need to get to a destination
for an event. We also use two
other marketing arms, Elite Air
Charter for those wanting the
higher end corporate charter
with pressurised aircraft
where comfort and speed is
important, and Bespoke Air
Tours for those who again
would like to design their own
exclusive private air tour,
particularly in the pressurised
Super King Air aircraft.
WHAT is INCLUDED
in the price
On an air tour the price
includes all accommodation,
touring, meals, drinks and GST
unless specifically excluded
on the itinerary (for example
a helicopter tour may be an
optional extra).
EXTRAS
The prices are based on twin
share accommodation and
single supplements are extra.
Surcharges apply for credit card
payments and various payment
discounts are available. It is
strongly advised to take out
travel insurance particularly for
tours booked well in advance.

Tony Kirkhope is the owner
of Kirkhope Aviation. Along
with Operations Manager
Keith Siler and a number of
highly experienced pilots,
operate exceptional tours and
air charters out of Moorabbin
Airport in Melbourne. All pilots
are all fully qualified, instrument
rated, professional commercial
pilots. They are great guides,
fun to travel with and you’ll get
to meet many of the friends
they have made over the years
when you take your outback
air tour.

is well organised and enjoyable
the same qualities are evident
when you book a private or
corporate charter.

KIRKHOPE AVIATION
Kirkhope Aviation commenced back in the mid 70’s and immediately
started trips into outback. Over the years the outback became a passion
and Kirkhope Aviation began specialising in tours around Australia
particularly the Kimberley and the Red Centre. Rains in the Red Centre
during the mid 80’s and 90’s caused much interest in Lake Eyre and the
wildflowers which spurred the company to more outback tours.
In 2001 Kirkhope Aviation acquired one of Australia’s most remote cattle
stations and for 6 years developed and flew tours to Pungalina in the Gulf
near the Northern Territory and Queensland Border. Kirkhope Aviation’s
outback experience has continued over 40 years. At the same time the
general charter side of the business has moved into corporate charter
with the purchase of its Beechcraft King Air.

Based at Moorabbin Airport in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Kirkhope Aviation began in the 70’s with a single
engine Piper Cherokee Six aircraft. We now own an 8 seat twin engine Piper Navajo, a 10 seat twin engine Piper Chieftain and an 11 seat
Beechcraft twin turbine pressurised Super King Air.
All aircraft are immaculately maintained and you do get the feeling of “first class” service. Generally the Navajo and Chieftains are
used for the outback touring as they have large windows providing a panoramic vista, and can fly low if necessary. The King Air is
used primarily for corporate charter although for those wanting a more exclusive tour, the King Air is a faster aircraft, and hence more
distance can be covered in less time and yet the remote places can still be accessed... These tours form part of our Bespoke Air Tours,
where you design your own itinerary.
2 x Piper Chieftains
VH-ZUM & VH-RUH
A twin-engine aircraft,
VH-ZUM has air conditioning,
the latest avionics and club
seating which provides plenty
of leg room. VH-RUH is similar
quality but has forward facing
seating.

Piper Navajo VH-HXN
A twin-engined corporate
aircraft. This is a slightly
smaller version of the Chieftain
Beechcraft Model 200
Super King Air (VH-ZOK)
A twin-engined turboprop
aircraft with a pressurized
cabin.
It has been the Royal Flying
Doctors preferred aircraft
type throughout Australia for
decades.
Introducing Our Aircraft...
This aircraft is not quite as fast as a jet, however it is more
versatile as it can land on sealed, gravel and grass airstrips. It has
corporate club seating with rear loading stairs and an emergency
toilet.
Carrying Capacity:
10 passengers
Max Cruise Speed:
530 Km/hr
VH-ZUM. It has air-conditioning
and also club seating with
tables. So it is ideal for the
smaller corporate group.
