Mr. Dixon and I met while he was a property manager at a busy and demanding location
near my downtown office two years ago. I have worked in San Diego for the last 18 years
as a trial attorney in federal court, placing me in contact with a vast multitude of people.
Problem solving and character assessment is foundational to my practice.
With this in mind, I enthusiastically recommend Tony Dixon for the Officer Candidate
School program. Mr. Dixon is a leader with an unfailing commitment to self-
improvement and mentoring. Last year I attended an international leadership conference
where I saw Mr. Dixon speak to a packed room of attendees on leadership and character
development. His presentation was smooth, engaging, thoughtful and well organized.
Mr. Dixon believes in the principles he extolls. I fired a more experienced coach and
instead hired Mr. Dixon because I was continually impressed with Mr. Dixon’s
courageous, resourceful and energetic responses to a wide variety of challenges. As part
of our work together, he taught me to use physical fitness as a vehicle for personal
development through goal setting, discipline, consistency, and candid self-examination.
The best kinds of leaders inspire others to lead. Mr. Dixon expects the best from himself
and communicates clearly his high regard for others, inspiring those around him to be
their best as well. I have learned to hold myself to a higher standard in virtually every
area of my life as a direct result of my time with him.
