The document discusses different types of stories that make the front pages of local versus national newspapers. 2. Murder
 We researched into Murder Stories and it seemed that most local murder
stories reach the front page this is because they are important in a local society
and if the killer is still at large people are to be warned. But I noticed with the
national newspapers only Murder cases which involve killing on a large scale,
killing of children or the more sadistic Murder cases make it to the front page.
Most murder cases take up most of the page possibly more than other headline
stories.

3. Sport
 Sport Headlines are usually found on the back of
Newspapers but some which spark National
interest make it to the front page. Usually on
Local papers big events like a local team winning
something or achieving something great will
make it to the front page, for example Wigan
Athletics promotion to the Premier League. But
usually most Sport Pages are back page unless its
a slow news day. We had an idea for a sport
headline involving a youngster qualifying for
Wimbledon.

4. Scandal
 Celeb Scandals seem to plague the Papers these days, but it
only seems to be the National Papers that include stories like
celebrity affairs. The Local Papers don’t really have celebrity
stories unless its a local success story or a local celeb. Scandal
stories which make it to the Local Papers are local government
stories or the council involved in a scandal.

5. Positive Stories
Not all newspaper articles are doom and gloom some give out
positive messages. We studied local Newspapers and they
seemed to use more positive stories than the national
newspapers possibly to give the town a good reputation.
But National newspapers seem a lot more critical. We were
thinking that we would keep it positive since were local.
