Key responsibilities:
 Ensuring that all the guests receive a warm, memorable and personalised welcome setting the scene for
their stay.
 Managing the night team, ensuring that skills and standards are trained, demonstrated and maintained
throughout the team.
 Compliting the admimistrative tasks accurately within the given timeframe.
 Responsible for the security and night operations of the hotel.
 Ensuring that guest’s are anticipated and incase of any requests they are met to their point.
Principal responsibilities:
 Lead by example.
 Ensuring that there is good communication with all the department throughout the hotel.
 Ensuring that all VIP and regular guests are well taken care of during their stay.
 Handle/ follow-up and communicate any comments of complaints to the concern HOD’s or Managers.
 Touring all te areas of the hotel on a regular basis to ensure that no irregularities are happening in the areas.
 Ensuring all team members, build and effectively utilise guest history profiles.
 Ensuring that all the tasks are completed on each shift by all team members and that a full handover takes
place at the end of the shift.
 Record any unusual occurrences or problems arising and report to the HOD’s for the appropriate action.

Key responsibilities:
 Conduct daily departmental briefings and directs and co-ordinates the activities of all security officers.
 Takes a mentoring role to those security officers who need additional support in improves their on job
performance.
 Is able to brief senior managers and other department heads on any assigned specific tasks, projects or
surveys conducted by the security.
 Ensures that all hotel property is adequately secured at all times.
 Is able to maintain and co-ordinate with outside authorizes-Civil Defence, Police, CID, Defence forces,
DPS and municipalities in the investigation and handling of crimes, accidents, etc. involving the hotel, its
employees or guests.
 Is responsible for investigation of all incidents or accidents in the absence of Security Manager, Director of
Security, Healthy and Safety and prepares reports, requisitions and other inter office memos.
 Ensures that all allegations of crimes are investigated and recorded.
 Liaises with all department heads to ensure hotel staffs are adhering to established security procedures e.g.
Hotel Property Gate passes procedures, Key control procedures and Exit and Entry control.
 Ensures that all security log books, checklist are properly updated.
 Ensures there are effective security patrolling and general rounds of the property.
 Is responsible to respond to the scene of any medical emergency, and assesses and renders appropriate First
aid, requests the dispatch of additional emergency services personnel such as paramedics.
 Ensures regular body search of staff with friendly and polite manners.
 Is responsible for lost and found property and the items deposited with security for safe keeping.
 Ensures that all systems and procedures as lay down by the Director of Security,
Health & safety are being followed and implemented.
 Ensures that all Hotel company staff/ property are adequately secured at all times.
 Ensures that all security staff is aware of their standard procedures.
Principal responsibilities:
 Conducts regular trainings within the department and ensures that all security staff attends hotel trainings as
requested by the management without fail.
 Ensures high standards of personal hygiene and grooming are maintained within the security department at
all times.
 Ensures that all security staff follows the house rules and are aware of all emergency procedures and all
hazards are reported.
 Promotes teamwork within the department and ensures equality at workplace is maintained without sexual
discrimination and harassments.

 Attends company orientation courses to be held for new employees in the capacity of a lecturer on security

 Maintains records of all fire equipments, and in conjunction of the Technical director.
 Is responsible for the Fire training, Fire testing system records and compliance with the legal requirements
about Fire Safety Systems.
 Ensures that all security team are aware of the Emergency procedures, Handling of situations and Dealing
with the Law enforcement agencies.
 Promotes a helpful, professional image while dealing with the staff and providing full co-operation with
prompt and a caring attitude.
 Anticipates the needs of the security staff whenever possible without compromising the Safety and Security
procedures.
 Ensures correct investigations of all incidents/accidents without bias, prejudice or discrimination and the
Director of security, Health and Safety & Security and Director of Human Resource are appraised
accordingly.
