The Everett Half Marathon ….April 12
th
…Even if you don’t run come out and cheer on the runners on our beautiful waterfront
Takes place at Port Gardner Landing. Formerly known as the Heroes Half Marathon, the Everett Half
Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at the Port Gardner Landing at Everett Marina. This is the
fifth year that participants have filled the street on West Marine View Drive and Highway 529 to run one
of the flattest half marathon courses around. Active duty military and veterans may register at a
discounted rate for the half marathon or 10K. The run course offers the most beautiful views of the
Snohomish River, Cascade Mountains and the Everett Waterfront.

Come be part of a NEW monthly networking event, Engage Everett, at the Austin in Downtown Everett!
Engage Everett is a monthly event in Everett, offering a chance to network with fellow professionals and
creatives and receiving an update on important community projects in Everett. The event is free and open
to the public. There will be coffee, water and soda available as well as a cash bar offering beer and wine.
This month's community update will be given by Bob Drewel.

Historic Everett Event
Maritime Historian and Author Chuck Fowler will be the guest speaker
and will lead guests through a visual presentation of Patrol and Rescue
Boats on the Puget Sound with emphasis on Everett and Snohomish.
This talk is co-sponsored with the Port of Everett and will take place at
the Waterfront Center located at 1205 Craftsman Way at the Port of
Everett, in the Blue Heron Room. The date is Sunday, April 19th
from
2-4 pm. This event is free for Historic Everett members and suggested
donation of $5.00 for the public. Refreshments will be served.

A great big THANKS to all who helped with the work party on March 14
th
at DEPOT PARK. We look
forward to more work parties this season and meeting new volunteers. We’ll keep you posted on future
dates. Depot Park is on Bond Street and it is a delightful place to walk to from our neighborhood. We are
grateful to Diane Rogers, Linden Kimbrough, Katrina Lindahl, Sheryl Becker and Vickie Rosenau.

This
spring
our
neighborhood
will
host
a
free
clean
up
day
for
Port
Gardner
residents.
This
clean
up
is
being
funded
by
our
mini
grant
and
a
neighborhood
block
grant.
We
need
ten
volunteers
to
handle
all
the
tasks
.
We
will
need
greeters
to
sign
people
in
and
verify
their
addresses,
direct
traffic,
set
up
a
refreshment
table,
separate
some
items,
help
unload,
pick
up
items
from
neighbors
without
transportation,
set
up
and
break
down
and
just
help
in
general.
This
will
be
a
great
way
to
get
some
of
our
alleys
cleaned
up!
