Commodity Dragonfruit
Description Dragonfruit (also called Pitahaya or Pitaya)
Scientific classification: Hylocereus Undatus
A fruit with an oval shape with a bright pink colour skin
and green scales. The fresh is either white or red with
small seeds resemble sesame seeds.
Suggested Use When cut open, everything inside is edible. The fruit is
best eaten raw and when it’s chilled. It could also be used
for fruit salad or some other type of dessert.
Storage Conditions Storage Conditions:
Refrigerate at +7 °
C to +10 °
C
Humidity 90% to 95%
The proper refrigerated conditions during the whole
transport and storage chain is a must for the quality and
shelf life of the product

Seasonal Availability All year round
Physical Properties The fruit should be the same colour all over and devoid of
bruises. Ripe fruit should not be too hard when slightly
squeeze.
