TrackingMaster is an automatic camera tracking system for autonomous detection and tracking of lecturers in lecture halls and similar spaces using remotely controllable pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras. The reliable position detection of the TrackingMaster is based on the use of 2D laser scanners. By mounting the sensors in the board area, the camera movement is not influenced by students in the auditorium, large projections behind the lecturer and a variety of other interferences. It also enables detection of people looking at the blackboard or not looking directly at the PTZ camera. In addition, the automation of the media technology is possible. Workflows can be automated or simplified using the position data.

2. THE PROBLEM
Students change their behaviour…
…they can‘t afford to live in big cities and go
to lectures every day
…they want to learn at their preferred time
of day, not based on a timetable
… growth of students needs to be
uncoupled from number of rooms at the
university
Teaching needs to be
location independent
Learning needs to be
provided 24/7
Growth in paying
students without building
new rooms
> Sustainability
3. HYBRID TEACHING CAN CHANGE THE WAY WE LEARN
Hybrid Teaching is more than just the
technological ability to interact with offsite
participants.
It chances the way of teaching at higher
education. Universities can offer basic
content on demand, so professors can focus
on individual learning and research.
Also the reach of the educational content
gets much higher, because it is not bundled
to the numbers of available rooms/ seats for
students.
4. GOOD TO KNOW
Studies show that for
hybrid learning success the
quality of the content is
critical. Audio quality has
to be great and the lecturer
always needs to be seen in
full frame.
This can’t be done by
camera man for million of
lectures every day, so this
has to be fixed by
technology.
5. OUR INVENTION
That’s why we invented
the first reliable auto-
tracking which can
move a camera as
professional as a
camera man.
Our USP is the usage of
lidar-sensors, which is
processed by our
software platform using
Machine Learning and
also the smooth control
of the camera.
Our technology enables
automation of the
workflow of the
lectures.
Our solution is more
reliable than every other
big company who offers
auto-tracking.
