My name is Tianxin Wang, and I am interested in applying for this position. I am a Master’s student in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Warner School of Education, University of Rochester. Before coming to the United States, I finished my Bachelor Degree in Chinese Language and Literature in Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
I am a creative, friendly and energetic girl. love music and performing. My enthusiasm on singing Chinese folk songs and performing has become an irreplaceable part of my life. Although I have never chosen to be a professional, I regard choir and performing as my important companion. The experience for me to create, produce, and perform in the theater inspired me and explained for the reason why I am always optimistic and curious about language and culture. I love to do intercultural communications with people from different places. I want to combine music and theater with language literacy education so as to make teaching more enjoyable. I like to use my leisure time apply for various volunteer opportunities to learn about practical teaching, to get know about non-profit organization, art or educational institute, to meet and help people, and to improve myself. I think what attracts me most about this position are the platform for me to pursue my passion on what I love; to promote program both in United States and abroad; to collaboratively work with colleagues; to learn valuable researching skills.
As a graduate student, I treat teaching Chinese and English as a second language, education, intercultural communication as well art administration my ideal future career territories. It will be a wonderful opportunity for me to learn about culture and education from multimodal approaches.
