A BIG THANK YOU to those than helped with the
CASC Rummage Sales, May 9th. Don, Jeff, Bob,
Charlie, Dan, Bonnie, Diana, Bruce, Roxanne, Bea,
Jennie, Carol, Stella, Susan, Theresa, and Kate.
(Apologies if a name was missed!) It took a real
team effort from toting boxes into the garage, out
of the garage into the building, setting up tables,
unpacking, and pricing the items. The day of the
sale everyone was busy selling our “wares”, along
with selling our baked goods, and craft room
items. On Monday, clean up of repacking boxes
then back to the garage, went very smoothly and
the Center was back to normal by noon. A awe-
some group of volunteers that is most appreciated
as the Center could not hold these type of events
without their donated time and effort.

Learn to Make a Japanese Tamari Ball
A thousand year old craft from Japan, Te-
mari is traditionally given as a gift. From
humble beginnings as simple toy balls for
children's play, Temari create a magnetic ef-
fect on viewers today. As a spectacular
decorating focal point, the puzzle of the de-
sign is mesmerizing.
The concept is elegantly simple, the end re-
sult is simply elegant
Temari opens up a whole new range of ter-
ritory for stitchers to explore. Stitches can
go in any direction because of the random
wrapped thread surface of the ball. They
are not limited to up and down, side to side
and diagonally as with traditional stitchery.
If you can fold a paper strip into halves,
fourths and eighths, you can make Temari!
