3. Marking out the defect
Dissecting the coracoid
Osteotomy and subscapularis split
Glenoid neck
preparation
Negotiating the
coracoid through the
subscapularis split
Accurate fixation
4. Aim of this study
Fine tune the technique
Simplify and design instrumentation for arthroscopic Latarjet which
would be
Reusable
Accurate
Predictable
Proportionate
8. Study group
31 patients – 30M and 1F.
Average bone loss of 18%.
29 primary surgeries and 2 revisions.
All surgeries in beach chair position, interscalene with GA.
Gravity assisted inflow in all. Average 30 litres.
26 cases had 2 screw fixation.
1 case of neurological injury.
6 patients lost ER between 15 to 20 degrees.
1 case of coracoid nonunion – 1 year post op; asymptomatic.
9. Advantages
Perfect medio lateral graft placement on the glenoid neck
Accurate screw sizing
Visual assurance of both screws being intraosseous
All equipment are reusable – major cost saving
Instruments proportionate to “Indian” coracoid dimensions
