Objectives
We are selecting a new Design
Research roster, to replace our
Usability and Accessibility roster
next year.

The Roster
– Between 3 and 8 research agencies
– 2–4 year term frameworks
– Effective from May 2016
– £3.5m–£5m in contracts over 4 years

If your agency is selected, you will
work on all of our digital products
and services, including:
– BBC Digital products such as iPlayer, News, Sport,
Cbeebies, CBBC, Bitesize
– The Global Experience Language (GEL)
– Key Experiences – Live, A/V
– Emerging editorial propositions
*Contracts may include a mix of online products, not limited to those shown

Capabilities
Minimum requirements for applicants:
– Experience of providing one-to-one task based research
– Demonstrable experience of qualitative research
– Demonstrable experience of visual communication
Specialisms

– Indicate which platforms you have current (i.e. within the last 3 years) experience
researching for. Multiple choice from Responsive, Apps, Interactive TV

– Confirm the proportion of client project time over the last 3 years which included
you delivering an element of Design Research
– What is the majority (i.e. more than 75%) of your client project time spent on?

– Demonstrate your experience in qualitative research by showcasing your own client
work, on a single A3 document.
– Demonstrate your experience in visual communication (i.e. making the complex
clear and understandable) by showcasing examples of visualised research analysis
for a client, on a single A3 document.
– Demonstrate your experience in a third design research specialism of your choice
by showcasing your own client work, on a single A3 document.

This will then be presented during the On-Site visit.

Research Facilitation
C:As part of the design research challenge
you’ll facilitate two one-to-one sessions:
– The BBC will recruit your participants
– You’ll prepare and facilitate 2 x 20 minute sessions
– Please video record both on film
– Select one film to upload via Bravo Solutions (raw, unedited
footage from beginning to end of a session – we should see
the participants entering and leaving the room)
