Thermostatic Fire Valve (TFV)
• Designed and manufactured to eliminate
nuisance trips
– Reset button to return the system to initial state
• Liquid-filled to offer more reliability in
all weathers than gas-filled products
• The widest range of pipe connections
and capillary lengths on the market
– Up to 35m capillary length
• Pipe connections of 3/8” and
1/2” ensure optimum flow rate
– 3/8” version includes compression nuts
and olives
– The only 1/2” valve on the market
• Suitable for up to 1.2 bar of
incoming fuel pressure
• Easy to install
Capillary fire valves are a legal
requirement (under BS 5410, part
1) for fuel burners. Make sure you
fit the best available by choosing
the FuelStop TFV.
The FuelStop TFV conforms to
British safety standards. Its
reliability makes it the perfect
choice for installers and customers.

2. How it works…
The FuelStop TFV is suitable for use with Class C and D
fuels as well as LPG, and provides automatic shut off in the
event of an overheat within a fuel burning appliance and
fail-safe shut off in the event of capillary or sensor failure.
There are three key parts of the FuelStop TFV, the valve
body which is installed outside the external wall of
the property. The capillary runs from the valve body
to the sensor which is located in the casing of
the appliance.
The FuelStop TFVs are manufactured in two temperature
ranges; 66 to 72°C and 86 to 95°C for installations where
higher temperatures are likely.
If the temperature in the fuel burning appliance exceeds the
temperature range appropriate for that valve, the liquid inside the
capillary expands and causes the valve to shut down, cutting off
the supply of fuel to the appliance immediately.
Simple reliable installation
The FuelStop TFV’s reliability, which is widely praised by
distributors and installers, is attributable to a combination
of design, high build quality and rigorous testing with an
ISO 9001:2008 approved company. This has resulted in
compliance with OFTEC OFS E101.
The FuelStop TFV was the first capillary operated fire valve to
incorporate an integral shut off facility as part of the reset
mechanism. The 3/8” valve comes complete with suitable
compression nuts and olives, reducing installation time and
saving the cost of an adaptor fitting.

• Capillary fits through 15mm ducting pipework.
• All FuelStop TFVs are suitable for use with suction or gravity
head fuel systems at pressures of –0.8 bar vacuum and 1.2 bar
positive head.
• The high flow rate characteristics make the FuelStop TFVs ideal
for suction lift applications. 3/8” valves are rated at 180 litres/hr,
and 1/2” valves are rated at 360 litres/hr, both measured at a
1.2m head.
• The valves are less susceptible to cold weather conditions
or vibration than other valves.
