Project Name: Warp Drive Computer Services (WDC)

Project Scope Descriptions:
Warp Drive Computerservices(WDC) isacomputer,tabletandmobile sales/ servicesshop.WDC
will focusonprovidingthe bestvalue forthe customerwhileidentifyingpotentialupsell
opportunitiesfornewproducts,additional servicesorupgradedproducts. The maingoal of WDC is
to provide sales,repairsandinformativeconsultationsforitsclientsusingthe Windows,Apple and
Androidoperatingsystemsorplatforms. WarpDrive Computerserviceswill strive tobe a one-stop
locationforsalesandservicingof computerormobile devices.
Our consultantsandtechnicianswillmaintainamasterycertificationinordertoprovide asecond
to none service level forourclients.We will focusonservicinghardware,software,malware and
othersystemissuesandproblemsforproductssoldatWDC and forany product thatmeetsthe
minimumservice level agreementof WDC. All serviceswillbe suggestive andnotmandatory.
WDC will sell newandrefurbishedproductstothe customers.These new productsincludenew
manufacturedcomputersfromreputablebrands .AlsoWDCwill offertabletsandphonesfromthe
top three providersinthe industry.WDCwill offeralimitedsectionof refurbishedhardware to
meetthe needsof a lowerprice range customer.Onlyproductsthatcan be servicedatWDC will be
soldat itslocation.
Warp Drive ComputerServiceswill be locatedinastripmall ina convenientlocation,withhigh-
traffic,easyaccessby freeways,andthe busor trolleyline.Thislocationwill be conducive forwalk-
insand browsing,andwill helpresultinadditional salesandservice agreements. The locationwill
meetall requirementspecificationsneededbyWDC. Will be a locationof at least1500 sq.feetand
have delegation of space forservice repairsandnew productdisplay.
The projectwill notexceedthe $40,000 the budgetand will be readyforoperationonMay 1 st ,
2015. WDC will be completelyoperational includingstore construction,hiringof skilledtechnicians,
initial marketing,establishmentof operational guidelinesandnecessities,30days’worth of
inventoryinordertoopenfor businessbefore May1st
, 2015. WDC will provideproductsand
servicesthatare consideredalevel thatisSecondtoNone.

Project Exclusions (Out of Scope):
 Creating or Managing an Marketing/ Advertising campaign for WDC
 Stocking more than 30 days of inventory of the following:
o New Computers
o Computer Parts
o Software
 Servicing equipment manufactured before the following:
o Computers – (PC and Mac) Before 2010
o Tablets/cell phones before 2010
 Any Service calls outside of the main service area of WDC (15 miles)
 Daily Business operations beyond store opening
Acceptance/Success Criteria
Time
 Project meets time objective and WDC will be ready to open for business by May 1,
2015
Cost
 Total expenditure has not exceeded the budget of $40,000. After taking into account
the contingency allocated.
 All equipment will be purchased and under budget.
Quality
 WDC employee related equipment has been tested and is able to accommodate the
purchase and rental of any store product/service.
 Business phones, fax and internet service on tested and functional on or before May
1, 2015
 For every product/service on display, there will be that same product/service
available for customer demonstration on-site
 All project management documents- project plan, project procurement plan,
communication plan, scope management plan, scope statement, team contract,
business case, project charter, WBS, schedule, cost baseline, status report, final
project presentation) and risk register required by sponsor are completed and
approved by October 15, 2014.
Human Resources
 There will be at least two employee’s available to help customers with the following
operations:
o Service, Repair, Customer mini-classes for pc and phones tutorials:
o Computers (Desktops and Laptops) and operating system..
o Mobile Platforms

 Al least one manager available for each schedule shift
 All employees have had proper training and are competent in using the POS (point
of sale)
 WDC will be fully staffed (5 full-time technical staff, (one administrative staff)
during business hours.
 Security Guards must be on site. During all business hours, and as necessary on
nights and holidays, for client safety, as well as property surveillance.
Location
 WDC location is in strip mall located in a high-traffic and convenient location, near
freeway on ramps, bus and trolley line that are conducive for walk-ins and browsing.
 WDC will have Handicapped parking with entrance access, and a ramp for shopping
carts.
 WDC will be allotted 2 “Reserved” parking spots in front of the store.
 WDC store front will have a well-lit display area, and 1500 sq. ft. of usable space
and sufficient storage space for new and used computer parts: i.e. at least 100 sq. ft.
Sufficient space for repair workbenches: i.e., at least 100 sq. ft. per workbench.
 A customer sitting/waiting area for convenience.
 Site lease is secured with a fixed rental price agreement for at least 3 years.
 WDC is listed on any related location marquees at least one month prior to store
opening date.
 WDC will have a security system complete with automatic locks on monetary
storage locations/devices
 There will be at least half as many designated parking spots as there are the
maximum capacity of occupants in the store (not including any store employees).
 There will be visible signs in the WDC stating that all children must be accompanied
by an adult when interacting with an equipment
Product Related Deliverables:
Legal Business Operations
 California Business license, Federal and State Tax ID numbers
Initial Marketing and Promotions
 WDC marketing campaign implemented 3 months prior to opening.
 Completion of Pre launch Marketing Initiatives based on requirements
Business Operations Plans
 General Operations
o Signed lease agreement for store location due no later than 45 days prior to
opening day.
o Utilities working within 3 days of lease agreement.

Project Constraints:
 The project constraints for our new computer repair shop are largely weighted on the
timeline, financials, and store location. The timeline can be a constraint since we
only have 6 months to plan, build, and open up shop. The financials can be a
constraint since the total budget is locked to a final maximum of $40,000.00. Lastly,
the location of our computer shop which is to be determined by market research can
be a constraint to the project. Here are a few other constraints not mentioned above:
o May not find the right technical staff that have the master certification
needed for the job
o Budget to keep up with certification
o All construction work to be complete on time
o Equipment to be up and ready to run on opening day
o All business licensing to be ready on opening day
Project Assumptions
 Insurance for WDC and employee’s purchased and valid on or before May 1, 2015
 All WDC terms, agreements and contracts have been reviewed by legal attorney and
signed off on by WDC owners and investors
 Inspection form sign-off for all equipment delivered.
 Location will meet all ADA requirements. Also will comply with all State and
Federal Laws
