 No single cause was enough, but all piled
  together they SNOWBALLED.
 What starts out as a small snowball
  dramatically changes...

  Military is the pride
   of your country

Imperialism
  European countries fighting for land in
   Africa.
Alliances
  European countries created allies with
   each other
  In the end there are two distinct sides
Nationalism

 Strong sense of pride and loyalty to your
  nation.
 One main example of why this is an issue
 Slavic portion of Austria-Hungary wanted to
  join Serbia
 Austria-Hungary wanted no part of that
The Spark
The Spark
 Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-
  Hungary assassinated by Serbian
  nationalist.
 All of the tensions in Europe explode and
  cause all all out Battle Royale.
 What started as a small snowball is now a
  huge boulder
