atCarltonUnitedBreweries(CUB).WorkingatCUBhasbeen“exciting”butalso
notwithoutitschallenges;foronething,beerconsumptionhasgenerallybeen
trendingdownwards.Within12monthsofusingabehaviouralmethodologyand
puttinginaswathofefficientprocesses,thecompanyisingrowth
mode.In2016,shebecameCUB’speopleintegrationconsultant.

diversity,turnaroundandbringingaboutahigh-performanceculture.”
Afterbeginningasciencedegreeitdidnottakeherlongtorealisethatit
didn’talignwithherpersonality.SoutheythencompletedaBachelorofArts,
LegalStudies,attheUniversityofWitwatersrandinJohannesburg.Thisledtoher
firstroleatarecruitmentcompanyin1989.Sherecalledthatduringtheinterview
phase,ifpeopleweren’twhiteyouwouldhavetoputaredstickerontheir
applicationbecausemanycompanieswouldnotemploypeopleofcolour.

industrymadeforarefreshingchangeafterbeinginthefinancesectorfor
mostofhercareer.
