Direct heat is used for faster cooking, while indirect
heat is used for cooking foods that need to heat up
slower so as not to burn.
3. • Oil the grates with oil, or use an onion half to rub
them and keep the slick before grilling
4. • Be cautious when grilling – the flare up from
dripping fat and sauce can burn you. To be safe,
when a flare up occurs, remove the food from the
coals and cover the grill while the fire dies down.
5. • To ensure you don’t flip food too fast, wait until one
end lifts easily from the grill, not sticking, then flip
it.
6. • Don’t just grill the same old burgers all summer, try
different recipes and new foods!
